BIR2010: Janette Rallison Interview-My Double Life Giveaway

BIR2010

Welcome to back to the BEST I'VE READ 2010! BIR2010 will run from December 6th through December 14th. This will be a annual event and this year its compromised of 9 blogs. Each day each blog will have multiple post and giveaways happening each day until its over. Then on the last day there will also be a Grand Prize Giveaway on the BIR2010 Blog.

To start off Sunday, We bring you a Interview from Janette Rallison author of My Double Life.

Interview:

Once Upon: Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your books.

Janette: I had someone tell me once that reading my books was like going down a waterslide: fun, exciting, and when you’re through you want to go on another one.

Once Upon: If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world. which would it be?

Janette: Definitely a romance. If you think about it, most fiction worlds are dangerous placec to be. You have evil wizards trying to take over the world, dystopian governments running amok, murders, vampires, zombies and werewolves. Romance is the only safe genre. I’d pick one with more kissing than Jane Austin’s books but not the bodice rippers of today.

Once Upon: Is there a song you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?
Janette: For My Unfair Godmother, I’d choose Magic by Selena Gomez. It’s a peppy, upbeat song like most of the book

Once Upon: What do you find so appealing about the genre you write for? Would you try writing for a different genre?
Janette: I've written in a couple genres and I’m sure I’ll write in several more. I’m partial to writing YA novels though because I think it’s important that kids have good, clean books to read. There aren’t enough of those around.

Once Upon: You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
Janette: I’d pay off my house. It’s a boring answer but true. After that, I’d take a family vacation to Hawaii.

Once Upon: What do you do in your free time?
Janette: Alas, I have no free time. When I’m not writing, I’m usually doing things with the family. I also try to walk for an hour a day. One day I may get to the point that I’ll have time to watch TV again. I haven’t done that for years.

Once Upon: How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
Janette: I was pregnant with twins at the time so I don’t recall actually going out. I did call all my friends and family.

Once Upon: Finish the sentence: One book I wish I had written is....
Janette: All the books that I’ve started but haven’t finished. Hopefully I’ll be able to get to them someday.
