Friday Five: 8/5/11 Top 5 Book Sequels

It's Friday so that means Friday Five that was inspired by Author Cheryl Renee Herbsman. Our friends at Eve's Fan Garden and Page Turners also partake in this meme.

Each Friday we will post a question or topic, then respond with our five choices.

Favorite Five Sequels from a series

Yara's Answers: (in no particular order)
  1. Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer - So much happens in the sequel. Your happy, mad, sad and just all of the above.
  2. The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa - All the books in this series are just plain WOW.
  3. The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore - If you though I Am Number Four was great wait until you read this sequel.
  4. Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers - This book is just pure evil with a grin on it.
  5. Vanish by Sophie Jordan - You are immediately devouring all the pages in the book.
Joshua's Answers:
  1. The Scorch Trials By James Dashner The Sequel to The Maze Runner
  2. Unraveled By Gena Showalter The Sequel to Intertwined
  3. The Wizard Heir By Cinda Williams Chima The Sequel to Warrior Heir
  4. Fablehaven, Rise of the Evening Star, By Brandon Mull The Sequel to Fable Haven
  5. Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret by Obert Skye The Sequel to The Runaway Hit Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo!
Tammy's Answers:

  1. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins--the ending left me reeling and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the third book.
  2. Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick--I wanted to smack Nora in this one, but I loved finding out more about Patch. The ending is still killing me. When does the next one come out again?!
  3. Beautiful Darkness by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia--loved where the story went in this one-Ethan is a great character and I can't wait to see what is next for Ethan and Lena.
  4. Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins--Sophie is such a great character! I love her sense of humor and her snarkiness! It was great to see her come into her powers more in this book, and I enjoyed the new setting.
  5. Linger by Maggie Stiefvater--it was hard to see Grace go through so many changes in this book, painful at times. I really enjoyed the new characters, especially Cole **sigh**.

What are your top sequels???

  1. I really liked THE IRON DAUGHTER by Julie Kagawa and SUPERNATURALLY by Kiersten White. CASTLE IN THE AIR by Diana Wynne Jones is as good as HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE in another way. I love all of Tamora Pierce's sequels.... I have yet to read VANISH (have the ARC at hand), but I believe that I'll enjoy as much as FIRELIGHT.

That's off the top of my head :)

  2. Even though there were some quite upsetting events, I loved Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.
Blood Promise by Richelle Mead was my favorite book in the Vampire Academy series.
Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink
The Returns: Shadow Souls by L.J. Smith in The Vampire Diaries series.
And I loved The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima!
