Summary: (from goodreads) Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

I'm always afraid to start a new series for an author that I've read and loved the book before. You always go in wondering will it be as great as the other series or will it flop. Jennifer has proven she can write just about anything and ace it. Obsidian is nothing like her Covenant series that starts of with Half-Blood. In Obsidian Jennifer writes about something you hardly read in either YA or Adult books. Jennifer takes Aliens to a whole nother level. The writing is addicting, you can't put the book down. The connections her characters have will make your levels spike in a very good way.

Katy is a book blogger who has to relocate from sunny Florida to woodsy West Virginia just before her senior year starts. She is practically in the middle of no where with the worst Internet reception available. Her quirky mom works all the time since the passing of Katy's dad. So Katy has a lot of time on her own, and her mom wants her to make new friends. So Katy sets off to meet her neighbors and possibly make new friends before school start. Cue in Daemon, he opens the door and what spouts out of that mouth of his, Katy just wants to slap him. Now mind you Daemon is probably the most gorgeous guy Katy has seen in her life. Its funny though seems the beauty didn't make it inside. Luckily Daemon has a sister that actually does want to be friends with Katy. Sometimes you cant stop what written in the cards, Daemon has to be friendly to Katy so they actually hang out. Well that's the first night something happens, Katy of course doesn't catch on. The event lights up Katy literally, see it turns out now Katy needs protecting because her neighbors are Luxen. In other words Aliens. The government knows they live among us but it has to be in secrecy. Seems when they use their powers that the government has no clue that they even have, it leaves a trace on the human, where they have a bright aura lighten up. Means the enemies of the luxen can tract the human and then tract the luxen down. I'm telling you Obsidian is one heck of a roller coaster ride once the cat is out of the bag. Then add to that mix Katy and Daemon stubbornness. Heads will clash and maybe a kiss or two will be stolen.  This is the part where I tell you to go buy the book. You will not be disappointed in this fast paced tale full of characters from out of this world.

I can gush about Obsidian and all of Jennifer's book all day long. Obsidian placed Jennifer in my Author wall of awesomeness. What that means? well basically if Jennifer writes anything, even if its on toilet paper. I will probably be the first to order it and read it immediately. Jennifer knows the right recipe to make us googoo-gaga for her characters and her books.

What happens when your main characters is a book blogger, well read these and find out. Katy is one of my favorite parts of this series. I love how Jennifer portrayed the book blogger aspects. They will have you in stitches  Example: "MY BLOG IS BETTER THAN YOUR VLOG.". That's a shirt that Katy wears. Need I say more?? Of course the Hot alien next door, is not a bad thing to have in a book either.
