Summary: (from goodreads) The choices I had made led to the moment when fate took over. I would learn a lesson I wasn't prepared for. And Death would be my willing teacher.

Five years ago, Abbey Chandler cheated Death. She survived a horrific car accident, but her "lucky" break came at the expense of her mother's life and changed everything. After she crossed paths with Death—by taking the hand of an ethereal boy made of clouds and sky—she would never be normal again.

Now she's the target of Death's ravens and an innocent boy's life is on the line. When Nate Holden—Abbey's secret crush—starts to climb Alaska's Denali, the Angel of Death stalks him because of her.

And Abbey finds out the hard way that Death never forgets.

First off I just want to point out how great this cover is. I know we see many Angels covers and wings, but this one is actually one of the good ones. I'm a big fan of blue and Angels so, this cover was my cup of tea. Moving on to the story inside now, On a Dark Wing is a good take on the afterlife and death. The mythology that Jordan wrote in this book was definitely a different take and at first it was a bit confusing but then it finally made sense. Its a refreshing take in the overload of paranormal novels out there. Don't give up on the book if you feel lost with all the characters or the mythology it will eventually make sense. It will turn and get exciting!

On a Dark Wing is written from many different POV's.  The main POV is from Abbey. Abbey lost her mother 5 years ago and blames herself her her mother's passing. Abbey also has a serious crush on a boy named Nate. Abbey also has a really good friend that is confided to a wheelchair due to a accident he suffered. Just when you think you know who Abbey will choose and be with Jordan throws in a curve ball. Now one character that might freak everyone out is Death, and he has not forgotten Abbey. In the past 5 years Death still remembers Abbey from the car accident when he took her mother but not Abbey. What happen when Death tries to get closer to Abbey? You will have to read to find out.

If you like to read a book that touches on thrilling, mysterious and even romantic then this is your book. Once you get passed the slow beginning the story does become a thrill ride. By the way for some reason I kept picturing death as Brad Pitt from the movie Meet Joe Black. Not a bad way to die if that what's facing you in the face right?
