OUaT: Welcome Megan to OUaT today. Just in case there is still someone out there that has not read Fracture can you tell the readers why they should pic up Fracture today?

I hope that Fracture will appeal to fans of both paranormal and contemporary. It walks the line a bit between both, and I hope there's something in there for everyone. Fracture is the story of Delaney Maxwell, who was trapped under the ice of a Maine lake for 11 minutes. By that point, she should be dead--or at the very least, significantly brain damaged. But 6 days later, she wakes from her coma, seemingly fine. But she's not exactly fine..

OUaT: When writing Fracture did you have a playlist you listen too, or any song in particular that kept you inspired? Can you share with us today.

I actually didn't. I need silence to write, which is hard to come by with a 3 and 5 year old in the house! So mostly I wrote at night. There were some songs I'd hear that I felt captured different scenes, but not one thing that specifically captured all of Fracture. I do have a playlist for my second book (which I listen to when I'm not writing), but I didn't have one for Fracture.

OUaT: Your main character is Delaney, was she extremely hard to write or possibly your secondary characters?

I love developing characters -- Delaney, in particular, came to me pretty quickly. But there was a secondary character (Troy) that was pretty difficult to write. He changed a lot from draft to draft, and it took me a while to come to terms with who he actually was. I feel like there's so much of him that didn't make it onto the page... so it was hard to pick and choose what to show and what to hold back.

OUaT: In the future will we see more books possibly like Fracture or will you dive into something new and different? Will you stay in the YA genre?

I have another book set to come out in early 2013. Fracture is a standalone, and my next book is another YA standalone as well. It's kind of in the same vein as Fracture, in that it walks the line a bit between the science and the paranormal, but it's also pretty different: more of a psychological thriller.

OUaT: SO tell us how much chocolate does an author eat during their whole book process?

Haha! I'm not a big chocolate eater. But I eat a LOT of pasta. A. Lot.

Thanks so much for having me!

Make sure you visit Fracture facebook fan page today. You can read a special bonus story called Eleven Minutes from Decker's POV. You can also see all the content from the blog tour. There is an excerpt for Fracture also. See the book trailer below.
