Summary: Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

So there are several books that have left me with an emotional pain with the realization that the last line of the story has arrived. Hopeless was one of those novels that grabbed me hard with all of it's might, or shall I say words. A grip that was so tight from page one until the very end.

Hopeless is the story of seventeen year old Sky. It's her life and relationships that the reader immediately falls in love with. Home schooled for her entire educational career by her single parent, adoptive mother, Sky has decided that spending her senior year of high school in a public setting would be a life experience that she didn't want to miss out on. Her best friend Six won't be there to help her through the transition, as she will be abroad, but Sky pushes on hoping that she will survive. Of course she is faced with the usual gossip and cliques that most "new students" are faced with. However, thank goodness for Holden, a new friend in her life that steps up to the plate in more ways than just one. I can't say enough about Holden. In my eyes, he's the silent hero, taking charge, taking command, protecting Sky no matter the cost.

Hopeless is jammed packed with twists, turns, secrets, heartaches and love. Written in first person, the reader gets a true view of Sky and Holder's feelings and thoughts. The minor characters sprinkled throughout the story all have been developed very nicely by the author. The reader truly becomes attached and invested in their lives. The storyline has dark and emotional undertones, that truly hit you when you least expect it. Be prepared to fall in love all over again and to possibly shed some silent tears. This is truly an amazing novel that gives new meaning to the word HOPELESS...

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I try very hard in my reviews to stay away from those details in the story that moved me, in hopes that the reader will experience the same feeling while reading like I did. Happy Reading!!!
