Summary: (from goodreads) Chloe Lilywhite struggles with all the normal problems of a typical seventeen-year-old high school student. Only, Chloe isn't a normal teenage girl. She's a Magical, part of a secret race of beings who influence the universe. More importantly, she's a Creator, which means Fate mapped out her destiny long ago, from her college choice, to where she will live, to even her job. While her friends and relatives relish their future roles, Chloe resents the lack of say in her life, especially when she learns she's to be guarded against a vengeful group of beings bent on wiping out her kind. Their number one target? Chloe, of course.

That's nothing compared to the boy trouble she's gotten herself into. Because a guy she's literally dreamed of and loved her entire life, one she never knew truly existed, shows up in her math class, and with him comes a twin brother she finds herself inexplicably drawn to.

Chloe's once unyielding path now has a lot more choices than she ever thought possible.

This book knocked my socks off!! I wasn’t expecting much with this being the first book by Heather Lyons, but was I wrong!! It is very well written in my opinion and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, BAM!! Again I am caught by surprise. I normally don’t read fantasy but after this book I may just indulge in this genre after all.

Chloe Lilywhite is a seventeen year old Magical going to a normal California high school. Her close friends are what she refers them to be her cousins because they too are Magicals living on the human plane and pretty much grew up together. Humans are forbidden to know anything about Magicals so they have to act normal. I found myself feeling sorry for Chloe and her cousins because their parents haven’t told them much about the Magical world that they soon will all be encompassing. Once you turn eighteen you ascend and that is when you do your Magical job you are given at birth.
I also felt sorry for Chloe because her parents are pretty nonexistent. She just doesn’t live up to her mother’s expectations and her father is either at work or at home doing work. She yearns for a mother that is a loving and caring mother, you know, one that gives advice and wants to listen to how your day was. Instead, Chloe’s mother is cold and short. Will Chloe ever live up to her parent’s expectations if they aren’t around to guide her to be where she needs to be when she ascends?? Not only will Chloe be on the Council but she is a Creator. This puts her in grave danger due to being Council bound.
Then on top of all the chaos of her parents and her Magical future she also falls in love with not one but TWO boys. The big kicker is one of them she dreamed about her whole life!! Talk about a love triangle!!

Not only does this book have the ups and downs of a roller coaster but it twists and turns like a corkscrew. I was so enveloped in this book that I had to keep reading until it was the very last page. Now I am counting down the days until I can get my hands on part two of the series!! I can’t wait to see what else in in store for Chloe next!!
