Top Ten Book Characters Names that Stick Out

1. Renesmee - Who doesn't know this name and either thinks its awesome or strange but you do remember it. Stephenie Meyer really picked a good one when she created that name for Bella and Edward's daughter. Book: Breaking Dawn

2. Travis Maddox - This name reeks sexiness. Ya know just saying the name that whoever this name belongs to is just swoon-worthy hot. And we all know he is, thanks to Jamie McGuire. Book: Beautiful Disaster & Walking Disaster

3. Daemon Black - Perfect name for a sexy alien. JLA picked the one name that has stuck for years now that is known world-wide and everyone love Daemon. Series: The Lux (Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Origin, Opposition)

4. Étienne - I might not be able to pronounce right but Stephanie Perkins knew how to choose a perfect name for the french hottie we all love. Anna is one lucky girl to be able to French kiss him. Book: Anna and the French Kiss.

5. Katniss Everdeen - This name now represents strength and loyalty. Suzanne Collins created a great characters with a even better name that young girls can look up to. Katniss definition is Heroine. Series: The Hunger Games Trilogy (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay).

6. Primrose Everdeen - She might not be as known as her sister Katniss but her name is hard to forget. Series: The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay).

7. Ebenezer Scrooge - Unless you were born yesterday, pretty much everyone know Scrooge. Bah-humbug! If you didn't read the book, you at least had to watch the movie in school. Its that kind of a name that stand out above the rest for years to come. Book: A Christmas Carol

8. Rhine - Its not a name you hear everyday and maybe even a bit strange for a girl but once you read the series, you agree its the perfect name chosen by Lauren DeStefano. Series: The Chemical Garden Trilogy (Wither, Fever, Sever).

9. Four (Tobias Eaton) - When I first read his name I knew I would fall hard for this guy. Veronica Roth was genius giving him such a simple name that works great with his faction. Series: Divergent (Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant)

10. Yara Silva & Yara Jones - I might be a little biased when it comes to these names. lol! The authors that used the name Yara did not know me prior to writing the book but now they sure do and I am stoked that I get to see my name in more than one book. If you wondering what the name Yara means, its Brazilian and means the goddess of river and forest or a siren. Series: Yara Silva is part of The Yara SIlva Trilogy by Lani Woodland and Yara Jones is part of The Sea Monster Memoirs by Karen Amanda Hooper.

  1. I've seen quite a few Katnisses today, but you're right, Primrose is different, too! (I like it more than Katniss!) Love the name Yara, and I also love the name Rhine. (Love flower names in general.) And Ebenezer Scrooge! Definitely an odd name! Good choice! ;D Thanks for sharing!

  2. Rhine is such a beautiful name but I really wish that we could have found out why her parents named her that because the importance of it seemed really emphasized in the first book. I can guess why she's named Rhine but a little confirmation would've been nice.
