Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them. Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.
I am very pick when it comes to fantasy and  aliens. I not a fan of something I cannot picture.I’ve read a handful of alien books, such as I Am Number Four and The Lux Series. But with the great things I’ve heard about Alienated, I couldn’t wait to read it. And I was not disappointed, I stayed all night reading it. I am officially a L’eihr Lover Extraordinaire.

This book is about Cara Sweeney and her family hosting the first L’eihr exchange program. Cara’s plan of foreign exchange did not include this out of this world exchange. With her mother scared with cancer, this left her family with a tight budget. So she agrees, since she is very determined to have a bright future. Cara has everything planned out but when she meets Aelyx, things don’t go as planned.

I am one of the people that tend to fall for the main male character. It is rare to love the main female character more. Agree? That’s why we all love Katniss Everdeen and the very few head strong characters. Well, Cara is no ordinary girl. She stands firmly to what she believes and is very loyal to those she cares for. This is why I loved her character so much. Even if the world is against her, she stood firmed. I would’ve broken down into pieces in her shoes.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved Aelyx. Although sometimes he was cruel to Cara, he didn’t know better. As he learned more about humans, his “would mankind harm the future of L’eihr more than help it” theory became in jeopardy. When he realizes mankind is not as bad as he thought, he became a wonderful Alien. I loved how conflicted he felt between his humanly emotions and his loyalty to his Sacred Mother.

Alienated took me by surprise, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I was expecting. Like I mentioned, I am very picky when it comes to this topic. I love my aliens to be more of human alike. Anyways, Aelyx is this out of this world hottie with no belly button. As he learns more of Cara and her loyalty as a friend, things begin to get hot between them. I am a fan and if you read it, I bet you will fall for this story.

  1. I'm starting this one today (if my sinus headache subsides a bit) so it's good to see a positive review!
