When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate—he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in nineteenth-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

But Nina shows no signs of being scared away, even as she experiences some unnerving apparitions herself. And as the two of them work closely together to restore the mansion’s faded glory, Deacon realizes that he’s found someone who doesn’t seem to like his fortune more than himself—while Nina may have finally found the one man she can trust with her bruised and battered heart.

But something on the island doesn’t believe in true love…and if Nina and Deacon can’t figure out how to put these angry spirits to rest, their own love doesn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

Deacon Whitney, software mogul and adorkable comic nerd, has been left with a family old estate that needs some fixin.' But, he needs a strong crew to help with cleaning and renovations. A team that won't run off at the first sight of a ghost. Because, yes creepy, old, lonely house equals ghosts.

In steps Nina, garden genius, and Deacon's got his eye on her. But, with old love stories gone wrong at the Whitney estate who's to say theirs is just waiting to turn bad?

YES! It's been such a long time since I've stepped back into a paranormal read and I am so happy to have gotten my hands on Better Homes and Hauntings! I equally loved all of the characters and their stories, not just Deacon and Nina's. That had a lot to do with Molly Harper's writing style. We are able to step into several point-of-views and see the entire story from everyone's angle.

There aren't as many ghostly encounters as you might expect, but when they are there trust me it is worth it. One word- creepy! The story did take a while to pick up, but that's not to say the book didn't have me hooked from the start. The mystery was definitely there and I was definitely craving to know what happened next.

All in all I am once again reminded why I love paranormal reads! Hoorah Molly Harper! Pick up Better Homes and Hauntings for a chilling yet fun read!
