She doesn’t play it safe…

Sophie Sarantos has a weakness for dangerous men. She doesn’t like safe lovers—she likes men with a wild, rough edge. But Sophie may have attracted a lover who is too dangerous, even for her. Someone is stalking Sophie, slipping into her home, watching her day and night. The stranger seems to know all of Sophie’s darkest secrets, secrets that should never be revealed.

Out of options, Sophie turns to ex-solider Lex Jensen for protection. Lex is part owner of VJS Protection, Inc., and Sophie hires him as her bodyguard. She thinks Lex is one of the “good guys” out there, but she couldn’t be more wrong.

He doesn’t play at all…

Lex has his own secrets. Dark, deadly secrets. And as his feelings for Sophie grow, Lex knows that he is going to have to stop pretending to be a gentleman and, instead, he’ll have to show Sophie who he really is. A man trained to kill. A man too used to evil. A man who will take any risk…as long as he can claim Sophie.

Because there is one thing that Lex wants in this world…one person he desires above all others…Sophie. And no one will hurt her, not on his watch.

This novel is recommended for those 18+ due to sexual content and/or mature subject matter.

Want Me was a great installment to the Dark Obsessions series!

Sophie was set up great in book one, and that's the reason I found myself looking forward to her own book so much. With her connection to Ethan, the seemly nutter, and the mystery she seems to carry around with her, it all added up to something I wanted to know more about. She was a badass character and I loved her. It’s not exactly common for me to stick around for book two in a adult romantic suspense book, but Cynthia Eden’s writing just works for me. Her writing is captivating and interesting and it keeps me around wanting more.

Like Watch Me, Want Me had great mystery... the very first sentence was interesting.

"Sophie Sarantos woke instantly, knowing that she wasn't alone."

Someone's stalking her. Watching over her while she sleeps, keep an eye out on her in broad day light. After the traumatic events only a few weeks ago, when she was betrayed and beaten by a person she considered a friend, she's not risking her safety. She turns to the one man she knows who will keep her safe. That man is Lex. The man she's attracted to, but is also dangerous. Though dangerous is her type, she knows she should avoid him. He's not good for her. But she needs his help if she wants to catch the man who's stalking her.

I had a small inkling of who the suspect was, but as it turned out, I was wrong. And I like that I was wrong. I like that the mystery completely got me and I had no clue. It was compelling and interesting. I'm usually good at suspecting what is going to happen, so I love it when a book or series comes along and it surprises me.

I did struggle with the insta-love a little bit, it's not my preferred method of execution. But it wasn't overwhelming and the other aspects of the novel made up for it. It all added up to be a really great novel.

  1. I love bodyguard romances. <3 And oooh! I'm glad to hear the mystery surprised you. That's always a plus when the author can manage that. :)

    1. Me too. Bodyguard romances are one of my weak spots!
