Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again was such a feel-good movie. I might love the sequel more than Mamma Mia (2008). I know for a fact I was smiling, laughing and singing along the whole time. I did not want the film to end. How could I?
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again had all the perfect ingredients. This film has such amazing scenery that take us from bluest of oceans to the green rolling hills. Then while transfixed by the scenery, you add the catchiest music with wonderful voices. I can't leave out the dance routines wither, you just want to get up from your seat, and put on your disco pants and shake it. of course, all this won't matter, if the actors aren't fantastic. The cast of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again really is the cherry on top!
The story continues 5 years later with Donna's daughter Sophie trying to follow in her mom's footsteps and reopen Hotel Bella Donna in her mother's memory. This by the way, made me sad, I didn't not know going in, that Donna had passed. What took away most of my sadness over Donna's passing, is how they did a second storyline of when Donna was Sophie's age and had just graduated from Oxford University and embarked on this adventure where we finally see how she met Harry, Bill and Sam. So throughout the film, we are switched back and forth with present and past. i REALLY LOVED that they did that, and how they executed it.
It's a must-watch. Pick up a copy today, you will not regret it. Plus, you must see Cher's appearance as Sophie's grandmother. If you can watch both films back to back, you'll enjoy the experience even better.
