Best Book Boyfriends of 2014

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope your day is filled with family, love, food, and a ton of new books! Today we'll be spotlighting the best of the book boyfriends of 2014, my very favorite thing. Narrowing it down to just 10 was pretty darn tough...

Of course Adrian Ivashkov is my number one book boyfriend. I've loved him ever since he started in on Rose and absolutely adore him and Sydney together.
"I know what love is, Mom. I've had love that burns in every fiber of my being, that drives me to be a better person and empowers me through each moment of the day."

Ahh Warner. The sexy bad guy. Sorry Adam, I tried to love you, but Warner soon took over my heart.
“His hands are holding my cheeks, and he pulls back just to look me in the eye and his chest is heaving and he says, "I think," he says, "my heart is going to explode," and I wish, more than ever, that I knew how to capture moments like these and revisit them forever.

Because this.

This is everything.”

When I started this series I did not expect to fall for Captain Carswell Thorne, Wolf maybe, Thorne not so much. Then came Cress and BOOM I couldn't wait to get back to Thorne's chapters.
“Captain,” she murmured.
“I think I’m in love with you.”
An eyebrow shot up. She counted six beats of his heart before, suddenly, he laughed.
“Don’t tell me it took you two whole days to realize that. I must be losing my touch.”

Do I really need to say anything for Noah, except thank you to Leydy for being so mean to me for not reading this series, the best book bully out there.
"I love you. Today. Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever. If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If I were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.”

The whole The Program series is absolutely amazing, and we here at OUaT are totally obsessed. So of course James is my list of the best book boyfriends.
"You knew after that memory we loved each other madly - I think even you said I was sweet. Now I remember how I felt that day. Even then, even with everything going on, I knew I'd never let you get away."

Daemon, you sexy alien you.
“Kat.” He uttered my name like it was some kind of prayer, and then he pressed a kiss against the skin behind my ear. “I broke every rule of my kind to heal you and keep you with me. I … burned down an entire city to keep you safe. I’ve killed for you. Did you think I’d forget what you mean to me? That anything in this world— in any world— would be stronger than my love for you?”

Kind of cheating with this one but we do get to see Four meeting Tris for the first time, falling in love. So I can totally count this one.
“I don't have the right word for how she looks, but even now, with parts of her face swollen and discolored, there's something striking about her, something I haven't seen before.
In that moment I'm able to accept the inevitability of how I feel, though not with joy. I need to talk to someone. I need to trust someone. And for whatever reason, I know, I know it's her.
I'll have to start by telling her my name.”

The best part of this book...we get to have all of the boys we met in this series. So I claim Josh, Cricket, and Étienne.
“What are you working on?" I ask.
"The last page." He gestures towards the table, where a pencilled sketch is being turned into inked brushstrokes. It's a drawing of us, in this café, in this moment.
I smile up at him "It's beautiful. But what comes next?"
"The best part." And he pulls me back into his arms. "The happily ever after.”

Oh Ansel, yummy Ansel. You are one sweet filthy boy.
“I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night.”

I just love the way Jax was with Calla, Jennifer L. Armentrout writes the best of the book boyfriends.
“Each time I saw you, I felt like . . . I felt like I knew you a little bit better. I never talked to you but seeing you always smiling or laughing . . . or being peaceful . . .” He shook his head, and my heart spasmed. “There’s something about that . . . it drew me in, Calla. Fuck. I fell for you before you even knew my name.”
