"A magnificent film, daringly conceived on an epic scale. It's as if no one bothered to tell the filmmakers that Hollywood doesn't do grandeur anymore. Andy Serkis's performance is so subtle, complex and convincing that I caught myself wondering at one point where they'd found an ape capable of conveying such an extraordinary range of emotions."
Joe Morgenstern, WALL STREET JOURNAL

By turns, serious war movie and epic adventure, this soulful saga sees Caesar and his followers forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. Both leaders have to face their darker instincts in a thought-provoking meditation on what it means to be human, and humane. Breathtaking state of the art effects married with powerful performances and a poignant narrative create a measured and timely study of war and intolerance.
