About the Book:
Sienna’s in college, working hard to achieve her dreams, and trying to love another boy—and halfway succeeding. She’d be totally happy with her life if she could just stop dreaming about him. Deni. The boy she left behind on the shores of Banda Aceh.

When she gets word Deni’s coming to America, Sea’s world shifts. And when he arrives on her doorstep, she's shaken to the core.

Sparks don’t just fly, they soar—and threaten to burn down the new life she’s so patiently, persistently, built.

When they’re both invited to join a relief mission in Cambodia, they jump at the chance to help…and be together. As the time and distance between them melts away in the sticky Cambodian heat, Sienna knows her heart can’t take losing him again.

And that’s exactly what might happen.

Book Review: The Spellspinners of Melas County by Heidi R. Kling

The Spellspinners of Melas County

Genre: Fantasy | Paranormal | Witches

The first three books of the SPELLSPINNERS saga in a single volume. Dive into the YA series hailed as better than THE SECRET CIRCLE and hotter than THE ORIGINALS.

***

Available for the first time in a single volume, the first three books of the SPELLSPINNERS OF MELAS COUNTY.

Once soulmates, the witch and warlock covens of the California coast have been estranged for a century. Raised to despise and distrust each other, their teenagers meet in the Solstice Stones, a magical battleground where they draw energy from one another to maintain their balance.

Hatred for the warlocks is all 16-year-old Lily has ever known. Until she meets Logan. Beautiful, funny, tender, perfect Logan.

Attracted by forces stronger than their magic, Lily and Logan risk everything to fight for a future together. But when they stumble upon hidden Spellspinners secrets and realize that they may hold the key to uniting their feuding covens, the star-crossed lovers must battle forces, both good and evil, hell-bent on keeping them apart.

I went into this book thinking I would enjoy it, and you know what, I did. I’m so glad I got to read the bundle of all three books because I’m a lover of continuous reading. Once I’m into a book there’s no stopping me! The Spellspinners of Melas County series holds an element of forbidden love, an element I’m starting to find really likeable. Also, Melas spelled backwards is Salem. I see what you did there.

This is a story of two teens, both full of magic that need to find a way to be together, but being from different covens (enemy covens) is proving hard. The witches and warlocks were ripped apart a hundred years ago and the bitterness only grew from there. But when witch Lily meets Logan, a warlock, and realises that not everything she’s been told is true about his kind, breaking the wall which has gathered one hundred eyes of lies and distrust between the covens isn't going to be easy.

The world Heidi created is great; the characters are so much fun. Book 2 and 3 were good, but book 1 was my favourite in the bundle. It just kept my attention and curiosity running throughout the whole book. Confession: I've read only one or two books involving witches. The Spellspinners of Melas County has enticed me into the genre and I’ve already added more witch centred books to my to-be-read list.

Still haunted by nightmares of her mother's death, fifteen-year-old Sienna Jones reluctantly travels to Indonesia with her father's relief team to help tsunami orphans with their post traumatic stress disorder--something Sienna knows a lot about. Since her mother's plane went missing over the Indian Ocean three years before, Sienna doesn't do anything if it involves the ocean or planes, so this trip is a big step forward.

But the last thing she expects is to fall for Deni, a brooding Indonesian boy who lives at the orphanage, and just so happens to be HOT. When Deni hears a rumor that his father may be alive, Sienna doesn't think twice about running away with him to the epicenter of the disaster. Unfortunately, what they find there could break both their hearts.

A compelling summer romance, Sea marks the arrival of a stunning new voice in YA.

This is my first novel that has I honestly became so inspired by, I wanted to jump in the book and help in the Pesantren. I truly loved how the author gave us enough details about the customs in Indonesia. I felt while reading I should be wearing a Jilbab. The way Indonesia is portrayed along with their people is perfectly written. The Story takes place 6 months after the tsunami hit the shore of Aceh.

Sienna is the main character we follow through her grief from loosing her mother 3 years before while her mother was on a mission in Thailand. Sea is her name given by her best friend Spidey, who she has in interest for in her hometown. Sienna Dad for her birthday gives her the gift of traveling to Indonesia with him and Team Hope. She has not been on a plane or water since her mother's disappearance in the ocean. So Sienna father does this to help her start getting better and hopefully learn to cope. They arrive and Sienna sees how the orphanage needs her help as much as she needs their help too. She has to stay in the girls room and learn to adjust to their customs of showering and eating. She then meets Deni, the mysterious boy with a limp. She is intrigued by him and start to get to know him more, while breaking rules. They build a beautiful sweet relationship and Sienna and Deni help each other cope. I don't want to give to much of this Beautifully told story of Love, Loss and breakthrough. It will inspire you I guarantee it.
