Book Release and Review: Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg

SWEET CHEEKS
Author: K. Bromberg
Reading Level: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Released: November 14, 2016
Review Source: JKB Publishing, LLC | InkSlinger PR

An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the beloved Driven series.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding.

I should have ignored it. Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied.

With a plus one.

And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear of him. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.

But I didn’t.

And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

Second chance romance books are not my favorite but K. Bromberg could write the phone book and I would read it.  I went into this story thinking there would be no way that Driven would be able to be topped, in my book.  The Driven series is one of my ALL TIME favorite series and K. Bromberg topped it with this book!!!  I am blown away by this story!

Sweet Cheeks begins with two head over heels in love teenagers.  Saylor and Hayes.  Hayes was the best friend of Saylor's brother.  Starting out crushing on each other which lead to becoming each others' first loves.  Everything ended abruptly when Hayes left without any explanation.  “Told me he’d stay forever. And left without ever saying a word.”  Fast forward ten years, Saylor creates a bakery "Sweet Cheeks" and Hayes is a Hollywood Superstar!  Saylor surprisingly receives a wedding invitation from her EX-FIANCE.  She, instead of throwing it away, checks YES for her response, with a plus one and her assistant sends it on accident.  Now who will be her plus one???  That, my friends, is where the story completely takes off for me.

I absolutely adored this book.  It gave me so many different feels!  I felt love, crushing sadness, stressed, utter happiness, I swooned, I cried, I laughed, OMG EVERYTHING.  I can't recommend this book enough.  K. Bromberg is a master at the emotions she evokes every single time she writes a book.  I am a big fan of hers and this book seals the deal for me with her amazing writing.  She is a one-click without thinking author.

I'm rating this story with 5 stars because I freaking LOVED this book.  I read through it quickly because I couldn't put the book down.  This book was the perfect combination of SWEET and sexy!!  I highly recommend it!

Book Release: Down Shift by K. Bromberg

DOWN SHIFT
Driven #8
Author: K. Bromberg
Reading Level: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 4, 2016

The New York Times bestselling Driven series continues with a story about finding love where you least expect it...

Behind the wheel, racing champion Zander Donavan is at the top of his game. But after too much excess in his personal life, he’s forced to step away. He needs to accomplish something all on his own—outside of his famous father, Colton Donavan’s, shadow.

Getty Caster is running away from the abuse that clouds her past. She thinks she’s found the perfect escape—until she discovers a stranger in the beachside cottage she’d been promised. He’s undeniably sexy, but she’s there to heal. Alone.

Before long though, fighting with each other turns into fighting their attraction. And giving into desire sets off a chain reaction that has their pasts colliding. With an unexpected love on the line, can they overcome the fallout to build a future?

Excerpt I force myself to look away because . . . well, because he’s a stranger. In my house. Naked. And oh my God, something is wrong with me, because I’m not running and calling 911 like I should. When his chuckle subsides, he brings his head back down, so I can see the tears in his eyes from laughter. “That thing is my cock, and since this is my bathroom and you seem to be attempting to seduce me in my house, I don’t think you have any right to tell me what to do.” And with that, he leans a hip against the counter and folds his arms across his chest, eyes locked on mine and one eyebrow lifted. Everything else is left hanging out there in the wind. “Your house? Seduce you?” At that point I realize I’m sputtering and shaking my head. “This is my house. You’re in my house.” Confusion drifts across his face and his jaw falls lax. “Hold up.” He lifts his hands in the hold on a minute position, drawing my eyes back to where they don’t want to be. If this whole situation weren’t so unbelievable, it would be comical, and yet as true as that is, I don’t seem to be laughing at all. “I think there seems to be some misunderstanding.” “No shit.” Sarcasm is my fallback and it doesn’t disappoint me now. A lot of good it does me, though, as I’m still doing the naked dance while trying to react to this surreal situation. The look of disdain he gives me at my comment earns him no points in my book. “While I’m digging the socks with your outfit,” he says with a smirk, eyes veering down and then back up to my strategically placed hands, “you should cover up.” I catch the towel he tosses me and immediately wrap it around myself. I’m certain my mismatching knee-high socks make a statement about me, but I’m beyond caring, because I’m still alone in my house with a strange man and have no answers as to how this has happened. With one hand clutching onto the towel at my collarbone, I use the other to motion to him. “You too.” A lightning flash of a grin glances across his lips. “Sorry, but you just took the only towel left.”

Book Review: Down Shift by K. Bromberg

Down Shift
A Driven Novel
Author: K. Bromberg
Reading Level: Adult Fiction
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 11th 2016
Review Source: NetGalley | Signet

The New York Times bestselling Driven series continues with a standalone story about finding love where you least expect it…

Behind the wheel, racing champion Zander Donavan is at the top of his game. But after too much excess in his personal life, he’s forced to step away. He needs to accomplish something all on his own—outside of his famous father's shadow.

Before long though, fighting with each other turns into fighting their attraction. And giving into desire sets off a chain reaction that has their pasts colliding. With an unexpected love on the line, can they overcome the fallout to build a future?

Down Shift can be read as a stand-alone book, even though its listed as #8 in the series. I haven't read any of the previous books and never felt lost while reading.

If you love your cookie cutter rom coms, then you would enjoy reading Down Shift by K. Bromberg. I think this would be what you call the perfect "summer read", I could have pictured myself reading it poolside with a nice cool glass of lemonade (or wine) and Down Shift in my hands. With the being said, Down Shift releases in October where in some states its already pretty nippy the weather. So maybe instead of a beach read, then it can be a cozy fireplace read, with your hot chocolate and soft blanket. Down Shift will help get you all warm and fuzzy inside.

I gave the book 3 trees because as I mentioned, its a cookie cutter read. It's your typical angst in the beginning, then hot and steamy in the middle and then all lovey-dovey in the end book. It was a nice read, but nothing that wowed me. I would recommend to those that enjoy a good romantic story. And Zander is a hottie!
