This book by far was the best of the three. I enjoyed reading this book as it began with drama and ended with a sweet surprise. This story made me laugh, cry and anxiously read to find out what happened next. I loved the fact that the Melanie got straight to the point with slight detail in between. I can't wait until the 2nd trilogy to see what happens next.

In this volume you finally meet Mattie, Allie's vampire boyfriend. He has returned to town after a long journey. Allie is excited and determined to take things to the next level. Felicity continues to date Cain, when a decision is made there is no turning back. Ben and Felicity get closer then ever, after someone leaves and she finally gets to meet Ben's father. Who reveals his secret to her.

Synopsis: The relationship between Cain and Felicity has crested to a peak that leaves them unsure whether to step back from each other for safety, or jump into a future united in death. 

Felicity is unlike any human Cain has known before. She treats him as an equal; a man worthy of friendship, respect and even... love. She embodies qualities of gentleness and loving trust that he has never found among his own kind. This makes her far more desirable to him than any creature of darkness could ever be. 

The venom of Cain's bite could protect Felicity from hostile vampires, but it would give him a measure of psychic control over her as well. Would Felicity only accept becoming a vampire, due to his addictive venom, coupled with the foolishness of a young girl in love?

As I stated in my first review of this trilogy, both books took way too long begin. The same story was repeated a couple times and I felt as though the dialogue was being dragged to make more pages in the book. I fell in love with the characters and I think that's why i finished the book. But towards the end of the book it got very interesting and exciting and I felt as if I could not put the book down. Overall its a good story. However, I think it could make do without so much detailed information about any one character all at the same time. Hopefully, the third book starts off a little earlier.

This second book you learn the history of the character named Cain. How he lived before, during and after he becomes a vampire. The love between Felicity and Cain grow more intense and builds into a relationship. Some interesting things happen between Cain and Sindy and in the end Sindy's posse turn against her and takes the help of her enemies to kill them. This book was mainly about Cain and Felicity until almost the end when all the other characters came back into the story.

Synopsis: Felicity has helped her friends to escape the venomous vixen Sindy, but cannot divine the motives of Cain, the vampire who captured first her gratitude, and then her heart. 

She finds the historical account of Cain's past enthralling and frightening. Now she must determine whether the addictive venom in Cain's kiss is clouding her judgment, and if his thirst for her blood is a driving force too strong for their love to conquer. 

It's difficult to contemplate such questions while under the attack of a vengeful vampire and his zombie slaves. Felicity's heart has already been lost to Cain; will she lose her life as well?

As I began to read this book, I must say it was a bit slow for me. I was surprised that it took almost until the end to get going. However, after the book began, WOW. Although it hasn't had a hot scene yet, the chemistry between the characters is exciting. And I'm not saying just the main characters, there's this whole plot going on that you think something might happen between two characters and it doesn't but then its there again. It kept me reading just to find out what will happen next. There were times I laughed, because the author did such a great job at capturing these characters and making them family, although in the book they are not. The way they bickered and nagged each other was really funny. I am really excited to read the volumes that follow and see where the story goes.

The Story begins with felicity, she is in college and recently moved into the University dorms located in a strange town. She begins working at a bookstore where she meets Ben. Ben is also a college student and works at the book store with Felicity. they meet and become friends. One night while walking to their dorms from their shifts, they get attacked. That's when you meet Cain and Sindy. Cain is a lonesome vampire who sole purpose is to teach new vampires his style of life. Sindy on the other hand, she's young, attractive, uncontrollable and wants Cain. However, things take a wrong turn when Cain decides he wants to be with a mortal. So Sindy gets "help" from the other vampires when she decides to play a little game. There is also Allie, she is this hardcore outspoken chick who works at a bar called Tommy's near the bookstore where Felicity and Ben work. Allie and Ben have been best friends since they were young, but due to the games that Sindy is playing, a dark confession is revealed and it involves Allie. Can't wait to begin the 2nd volume in the trilogy. Stay tuned!
