This book brings a message of faith and how you can survive a lot of hardships with hope and courage. The only fault I found is that it preaches very directly, I would have like if more subtle. But besides that is a book that portraits how love grows between a best friends, their struggles with teenage situations and how they learn to face them together. The characters are very likable and they grab you emotionally. In all a very refreshing love story.

Synopsis: My body was being torn apart, and my stomach felt as if it exploded. The pain was excruciating, and I was aware that I was dying... 'Mom?' My vision was murky, but I could see her face. It was bloody, and her eyes were large and full of fear. Her voice calmed. 'Get out of the car, Attie.' Her words sounded crisp and clear. I looked into the backseat in search of Melody and found her lying covered in blood in a twisted heap on the floor. I turned my attention back to my mother and out of the corner of my eye saw fire. 'Get out, Attie!' 'Mom?' Everything went dark.' Attie Reed should have died in the wreck that stole the lives of her mother and best friend. But her life was spared. Why? When Attie moves to Oklahoma to stay with the Bennetts for the summer, she hopes she has left her nightmares behind. Dallas Twi-Tour Convention

Just letting you all know this weekend the blog will be quiet since I will be volunteering at Dallas Twi-tour convention Saturday and Sunday. So I wont have any time to go online and do any posting while in Dallas. You can follow twitter, which I will be updating when I can from the convention.

"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"

Yara's response: Pretty much 90% of the time, unless A publisher sends me the book and says it does not have to read in order. If I go to buy a book and see its a series then Yes I always start with the 1st one. 

Luck of the Wolf Book Review

I was so excited to dive into this book as it's a completely different plot then what I'm used to reading. s i began reading though, I just could not keep up with the dialog. The story was all over the place and very confusing. The storyline was hard to follow and did not have a reason to it. I could not understand the reason behind Aria faking the amnesia and why Cort was changing his opinion of her so that he can hide his affection for her. I think it was just very infuriating how naive and  dumb this character was made to  be. Overall, I just think this book could have been a lot better.

This story begins with a gentlemen named Franz who is the guardian of Aria who is a werewolf. They live in a small town in Austria, where she is free to roam around the mountains. However, whenever she ask her family, Franz denies her that information. Franz know everything about this werewolf and has just told her that they are on their way to America, San Francisco to be exact. But while in New York Franz gets killed and all his paperwork and money are stolen, leaving Aria alone ans not knowing anything about her family or her true identity. Here's where Cort comes in. He's a Beauregard Cortland from Louisiana who wins Aria at a poker game and saves her from a horrible fate.

What he found was a mysterious beauty who could not—or would not—reveal who she truly was. I like historical romances and this one has it all, romance, mystery, fun and historical folklore. The writer accomplished to make the characters interesting and fun and not just the main ones. As a matter of fact she could well write spin-off using 2 of the supporting characters, Duncan and Robert. This is my 1st book by Karen Hawkins and it has made me order the rest of the books on the previous series and can't wait for the Hurst amulet first book. The author must have liked writing this book, because it transfers to readers, it is witty, funny and delightful to read.
