Alone is nice easy read. There is nothing in Alone to have to make to think to hard or pull out a dictionary to understand what it means. The story is in present day and with real present day problems that exist. If you have a problem reading about spousal abuse then this book is not for you. There is a great part of the book based on past incidents and new ones of course. I don't think its too major that it makes you cringe but I did get upset when reading it.

We are introduced to Serenity, she is the main character in the book. She is a simple woman, that has been living in fear of her husband for years now, but does not have the courage to leave him. Serenity finally looses her job all because of her husband. She meets a man on the street while she is roaming so she doesn't go home yet to her husband. Sebastian sees this woman looking very distraught and approaches her to see what is wrong. There is instant chemistry and Sebastian knows he should stay away, see Sebastian is a Vampire. So lets say Sebastian does not leave Serenity and even ends of showing up at a point when Serenity needed help. I wont give anymore away. You will just have to read to fins out.

Summary: Caught in a violent and abusive relationship, Serenity thinks there is no escape. Then she meets a stranger, Sebastian, who shows her the possibility of a different future.

Only Sebastian has a dark secret; he is a vampire.

As Serenity’s life takes a terrifying turn, she finds herself drawn into a world she never knew existed; one of murder, love, and immortality. She is forced to confront her own weaknesses to save both her own life and that of the vampire she has come to love. But in the end all that matters is; can she find the strength to be alone ?
