I started reading this book right after finishing Kiss of Crimson, the second book, and I must say I totally loved it!  I found myself not being able to put any of the Midnight Breed series books down. They are full of romance and action all in one book.  I can’t wait to start Midnight Rising!
After Elise’s son had showed up at her home showing signs of Bloodlust, Sterling Chase had no choice but to kill him before Camden hurt Elise. This is something the Elise cannot get out of her head and swore to avenge her son’s death.  With her husband’s death five years ago and her only son’s recent death, she vows to avenge their deaths and to stop the Rogues who sold Crimson to her son and to make sure that no other Breed vampires would ever die from it again.  This is when Elise leaves the protection of the Dark Haven that has protected her all her life to go and hunt for Minions and Rogues.
Tegan a Breed warrior and a Gen One (First Generation Vampire) finds himself not able to stop thinking of Elise.  Ever since he drove her home that one night from the Compound after she saw the footage of her son gone Rogue from Bloodlust he has not been able to get her out of his head.  After saving her life from a Rogue, he finds out about her little mission.  Elise intercepts a journal that Mareck was supposed to get, and turns it over Tegan and the Order.  The contents of the journal takes Tegan and Elise to Berlin on a mission.  After Elise is attached by a Minion and nearly escapes, Tegan finally realizes just how much he cares for her.  After returning to the Compound, Elise discovers what Marek is after and Tegan and the rest of the Order sets out to stop Marek before it’s too late.

Summary: With a dagger in her hand and vengeance on her mind, Darkhaven beauty Elise Chase prowls Boston’s streets in search of retribution against the Rogue vampires who took from her everything she cherished. Using an extraordinary psychic gift, she tracks her prey, well aware that the power she possesses is destroying her. She must learn to harness this gift, and for that she can turn to only one man—the deadliest of the Breed warriors, Tegan.

No stranger to loss, Tegan knows Elise’s pain. He knows fury, but when he slays his enemies it is with ice in his veins. He is perfect in his self-control, until Elise seeks his aid in her personal war. An unholy alliance is forged—a bond that will link them by blood and vow—and plunge them into a tempest of danger, desire, and the darkest passions of the heart. . .
