Movie reviews: Tron Legacy & Knight and Day

These Holidays I was able to watch a few movies. I will be reviewing some as the days go.

Tron Legacy
Director: Joseph Kosinski
Cast: Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, James FrainRun Time: 127 minutes
Rated: PG
Released: December 17th 2010

I went to see this in 3D Imax and it was worth the Imax price. The visual effects are just perfect for the type pf movie it is. You literally feel like you step inside a game. The storyline is good too, not complicated at all to understand. I think all the actors did a great job in their roles. Micheal Sheen was my favorite, he does a Villain like nobody else does. This is a great movie to see with the whole family. The soundtrack to me was Amazing! I love Electronic music so they nailed it plus it had a touch of 80's influence in it. I will be buying the Blu-Ray and Soundtrack.

Plot: The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father's creation turned bad and a unique ally who was born inside the digital domain of The Grid.

Knight and Day
Director: James Mangold
Cast: Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Peter Sarsgaard, Maggie Grace, Paul Dano, Marc Blucas, Viola Davis, Jordi Mollà
Runtime: 110 minutes
Rated: PG-13
Released: June 23rd 2010

This is the movie I rented that I did not go see in the theater. In a way Im glad I didn't. I think the movie lack some of the Old Tom Cruise. Im use to seeing him Mission Impossible style. Cameron Diaz was her usual self, funny. The plot was good then in the end it ended a bit weak for me. I won't be buying this movie. It's ok to see once not anymore than that.

Plot: June Havens finds her everyday life tangled with that of a secret agent who has realized he isn't supposed to survive his latest mission. As their campaign to stay alive stretches across the globe, they soon learn that all they can count on is each other.

  2. I may be dating myself here, but I saw the first Tron movie back in the day and it was my favorite. I watched it over and over again. I can't wait to see this one. I just hope I can get to the theater for it before it comes out on DVD. Thanks for the review.
