In this book Trella is looked to as a leader, but she really wants nothing to do with that role. The best person for the job, Cog, was lost to the Outside in the first book. I enjoyed the love story between Trella and Riley. At times I felt like smacking one or the other of them for some of the choices they made, especially Trella.
In the first book, they break free from their oppressors, the Travas, who had found a way to control everyone and have them do all the work. They overthrew them and took control of their world in this installment and developed a committee and tried to have everyone work together in shifts. Many of them couldn’t work together and are envious of what the others have. Things start to fall apart and then they discover that some one or something is trying to get into their world. They need to find a way to set aside their differences and work together to save themselves from this new threat.

We say good bye to one of the main characters, like in the first book.

Oh this reminds me that I have to read book 1 of this series. I have it at home and everything. Nice to know book 2 is good too!
