Dark Days of Winter 2012: Houston 2/18/12 Recap! Interview+Pictures+Giveaway!

Hey Everyone!!! Today we celebrate my (Yara) birthday with my recap from the Pitch Dark Days stop that happen here in Houston on 2/18/12. This stop featured Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Courtney Allison Moulton. Thanks to Harper Teen, I was able to sit down with the lovely authors before the event and interview on video, I took several pictures and tweeted live for you all the day of the event. I had help with the interview from fellow Houston blogger Trini @ A Book Lovers Review. We had such a great time filming the interview, lots of laughs and ooops took place. Then at 4pm we headed to Blue Willow Bookshop to begin the event.

The event was a HIT as soon as you walked in the door. Their was such a large crowd that the bookstore sold out on the books from the authors. The authors decided since it was such a large crowd they would introduce themselves and then jump into taking questions. Tons of great questions were asked and the crowd was awarded with candy from Brodi and Courtney. Cynthia awarded some of her fans with cowboy hats and beanies. Jodi gave out some cute stuff she knitted herself. The crowd loved it. The picture was taken after the event.

The crowd asked if it was hard to write the beginning of the series first or the ending?

Pretty much all the authors agreed in answer saying the ending is the hardest. You sort of don't want to let go of the story. Tears were shed!

Then they were asked how many books do they plan or have planned out to write in the series.

They each said 3

Below you can watch the video interview with the authors before the event. I think that Trini and I did a good job with the interview and editing for being our first time at both. We hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed filming it for you all.

During the event I was able to tweet and take pictures for you all. If you want to see what I tweeted you can find it under the hashtag #pitchdarkdays or @twilightsdance. If you would like to find out if Blue Willow has any signed books or swag left from the event, just visit their page HERE. We hope you liked this recap. It was such a great way to spend a Saturday. I got to see quite a few bloggers and even an author or two in the audience. Then went home to edit the video with Trini until 2am. All worth it!

Here are all my pictures from the event!

I want to thank Harper Teen for letting me be a part of this wonderful Pitch Dark Days tour.  Thank you to Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Courtney Allison Moulton for a great interview and event.
