Summary: (from goodreads) Alora looked back and the corner of her lip turned up. “It’s always darkest before the dawn, Julia. Good luck.”

Her words sent chills up my spine as she vanished.

Unrest stirs deep in Scotts Valley. Filled with uncertainty, Julia anxiously awaits Nicholas’ return. Phil, hurt and unsure of his place as a sober vampire, holds the pieces of Julia’s fragile psyche together, secretly hoping Nicholas stays away forever. Scarlett bides her time, plotting for the perfect moment to prove herself and earn redemption. But somewhere in L.A., Alora conspires to reclaim her talisman and strip Julia of everything she holds dear.

Little do they know, a war is coming and more than one vampire would like to see the Prince of Vampires overthrown. As more and more vampires show up from nowhere, addicted to her scent, Julia must pick her allies carefully before it’s too late. Can Julia bargain with fate? When the time comes, will she even have a choice? Find out how it all ends in this explosive grand finale of The Talisman Trilogy.

Another sad day for me in the book world. Seems all my favorite series are coming to an end. Sad to see it end but happy to see how it ended. One detail I loved about this 3rd installment is the cover. Its my favorite from the series. What an incredible job designing it. Besides the cover Brenda delivers with the last book in the series. You get the trifecta with the Talisman series; Great story, great characters and great series.

In this last book Julia continue her quest. Nicholas is still away for the most part and Phil is the one hanging around Julie. One downside for me before I get into the good is I missed Nicholas, seems he didn't have enough story in this book. Once you got towards the end yes, but not throughout. He felt missing to me. Now how that was a positive for the story was that then the love triangle didn't take up the whole story. You actually had Julia dealing with all the new revelations going on with the vampires and even a close to home stab in the back. Alora is as evil as she ever will be, after Julia and that talisman. So many secrets get disclosed and we finally know what is to come of the talisman. Brenda does a great job at keeping everything simple and easy to follow. She doesn't dump to much at once to confuse anyone.

The Talisman series is one of those series that I consider a diamond in the rough. Since its not backed by a heavy hitter publishing house it kinda sits on the back burners, when it shouldn't. I think more readers should give this series a chance and they will see what other readers like myself are talking about. Overall this is a great ending to a great series. I'm excited that we haven't seen the last of Brenda, she is currently working on her second book in her Mer Tales series, which I loved Everblue and I'm excited to read Evergreen. Brenda is an author you should watch for.

Thank you Brenda!
