Summary: (from goodreads) Despite the hunger, despite the lies, even despite the plague, the kids of Perdido Beach are determined to survive. Creeping into the tenuous new existence they've built, though, is perhaps the worst incarnation yet of the enemy known as the Darkness: fear.

Recently I’ve had the pleasure of reading the highly acclaimed Gone Series. Filled with horror and action Michael Grant does a wonderful job of conveying his world to the reader. His characters are so human in every way and form, that the reader can feel their pain along with them. The Gone Series is a about a group of kids who suddenly become stranded in their town which is surrounded by a dome. While struggling to survive, strange mutations begin to change the kids leaving the reality they once believed in, behind. Before I go on however, I strongly recommend that you read the first books in the series if you haven’t before. There are several in the series, before this one, so don’t miss out.

So in Fear, we find the kids are in for a final test. A test that could send them over the edge. Astrid is on her own, Sam is still trying to protect people, and unfortunately Diana is pregnant. Also don’t forget that the gaiphage is still lurking in the dark. In Fear the limits of all are pushed to the very limit and are forced to look deep down inside themselves. Mr. Grant, once again, delivers another magnificent and emotional novel. With non- stop terror and action, Fear keeps you hooked for the entire ride. Warnings to all though, there are not a lot of happy moments in this series, but the plot is one that keeps you reading for more.
