  • Become a social butterfly on twitter with other bloggers and authors
  • Open your reading up to different genres
  • Have patience and understanding
  • Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it
  • Join blog tours, hops and memes
  • Don't turn away self-published or Indie authors
  • Blog because you LOVE it

  1. Lots of good points here. :) Especially #1 since #10 is a much better reason to blog. Great advice for new bloggers.

  2. Short and completely sensible advice. I have found one or two great books by accepting self-published books. Your other advice is great. Sums it all up nicely.

  3. Love the first tip. When people find out I sometimes receive free books, they think 'sign me up'. But then I tell them how much time and commitment a blog can take. And if you're not having fun doing it, then the books aren't going to be worth it. Great advice (and short and succinct)!

  4. I agree with the selfpublished authors comment. I reviewed a selfpublished debut author and ended up loving it! Great advice! My Top Ten Tuesday

  5. I can't believe I forgot grammar! Bad grammar and spelling drive me nuts.

  6. These are great. I love the one about getting free books. I was going to put that on mine, but ultimately didn't. I also really like the "Ask for help when you need it."

  7. Awesome tips. Grammar is definitely important when blogging. It can be very discouraging to try to read a review that is riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes.

  8. Great advice. I'm still struggling with Twitter. I read tweets but don't really know how to jump in. I know it seems easy to everyone else but I'm... maybe too timid.
