Summary: (from goodreads) Keegan lives to exact revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a plan to bring on the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers, interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with capturing and delivering their father for punishment.Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she's also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon's Most Wanted List. And no one wants her more than Keegan's father.Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he'll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics-the far deadlier, uncontrollable half-when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he'll never be able to resist.

Keegan is not from this world. In fact he's a demon. He's been sent to Earth by the Council as a Detainor to kill Brynn Meyers, a woman who is half demon and doesn't know it yet. Why kill her you may ask? Well, Keegan's father, Mammon, has gone to the Egyptian desert to find a 3000 year old book. But not just any book, The Book of the Dead. His plan is to raise an army of the dead (yes, Zombies) and have them take over all worlds, making him King of everything.

Keegan was not sent to Earth alone however. He's been sent with his three dashingly handsome, demon brothers; Taeg, Ronin and Dagon. The four of them have come as a team to find the woman they have to kill but they have a side agenda. Mammon can't raise his army of the dead without the heir, that's where Brynn comes in. She has just become the key to the end of the world. She is the heir of the man who created The Book of the Dead, and Mammon believes by finding Brynn, her demon blood will lead her to the prize he seeks buried beneath the sands of Egypt. Their goal is to try to guard Brynn until they can find The Book of the Dead so that Mammon can't manipulate her. Though they know all along that if they fail and Mammon should find the book before they do, that they will have to kill Brynn.

Of course in the middle of guarding the Council's Most Wanted demoness, Keegan develops feelings for Brynn and vice versa. Neither of them can stay away from the other as much as they should try to fight it and they end of falling for one another. But can Keegan keep his feelings in check should the time come to destroy the only woman he's ever been close to?

This was a phenomenal story. Rosalie Lario is a gifted writer. I just started reading Adult Paranormal Romance's this year and admittedly I've loved every one of them. Though I loved the Black Dagger Brotherhood more than most, I would put Rosalie Lario right up there along side J.R. Ward. She hooks you into the story quickly and keeps you flipping the pages. I love that all of the books in this genre that I've read so far are from a male perspective most of the time. I also love that Lario lets you into the heads of all of the characters in her story at one point or another. The story is cunning, the characters are witty and the ride she takes you on to find Mammon and stop the raising of the army of the dead is brilliantly written. I could see this series one day being made into an HBO series or perhaps brought to the big screen. I can't wait to see where the story picks up in Book 2!
