Summary: (from goodreads) Rose Whitfield's senior year just went up in smoke. Instead of having a blast with her best friend, her cheerleading squad, and her boyfriend Ryan, she's framed for arson. Popularity and criminal records don't mix, apparently.

Luckily, Rose knows who's framing her: Paxton Callaway. Paxton and Rose have spent years locked in a war of practical jokes. This time he's gone too far. Rose sets out to prove her innocence, win Ryan back, and take Paxton down hard.

Not necessarily in that order.

I loved loved the book Torched. Right from the beginning of the novel I fell in love with the characters and the story line right from the start. I couldn't put it down at all. I would stay up really late at night and look at the clock and notice that I had to go to bed eventually. My husband loves it when I would watch the Debates with him on Fox news. I tried watching it last night but had to get my nook out and dive into more of the book. He was occupied with the debate he didn't even notice that I wasn't even watching.

The story takes place with a popular captain cheerleader that had everything a girl would want. She was popular, beautiful, gorgeous boyfriend and smart. Until one day something changed her whole life in a blink of an eye. She was accused of burning down her boyfriends family yacht and taking pictures of her boyfriend cheating on her. She told the police officers she was home on a Friday night studying and never left. They didn't believe her and was charged with arson. After that day Rose couldn't imagine what her life is going to be like at school. The next day when she went to school she found out what it was like to be picked on and called names. Like she use to do to other classmates in school. Her best friend was even involved with the name calling. She kept telling everybody that she was innocent and nobody would believe her. Not even her parents, boyfriend, or friends. So she decided she was going to find out who framed her. She started talking to a classmate that her best friend was mean to once to see if she would write a list of people that hated her. She thought it was only one person but it turned out being more then what she thought. But the one name that wasn't on that list that kept coming to her was her use to be friend Paxton. In eighth grade he dumped cranberry juice on her dress and that's when all the pranks between them started. They would do any kind of prank to try to hurt each other because they loved it. Even when they hung out because their family was friends they had to put all pranks aside and pretend to be friends. Until one day Rose was crowned homecoming queen and her king was Paxton. She told him she was framed and he said he would help her find out who is framing her. So they put their pranks aside and help each other. But Rose ends up finding out why the pranks started in the first place. She finds out that Paxton has been in love with her this whole time. Since 8th Grade. In the book her and Paxton go through this romance and she feels things that she has never felt before with her ex boyfriend Ryan. I don't want to tell you anymore but in the novel Rose finds out who her real friends are and what being in love feels like.

I would recommend this novel for you to read. I was so ticked off after the book was over with that I wanted to throw my nook because I wanted more of the story and the characters. I loved the characters of Rose and Paxton. Reminds me of my husband and I. I know what it feels like to fall in love for the first time. With those wonderful butterfly feelings. Its a feeling that is so new to you and you want to keep it forever. So if you get a chance to read this book don't walk to the store. RUN...

  1. This sounds like such an awesome story, it's just ashame I don't read ebooks and that the paperback version isn't that easy to get a hold of.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this as much as you did. And to hear that you were tempted to throw your nook in frustration because you wanted more of the story and the characters speaks volumes and makes me want to dive on in all the more!

Amazing review! I haven't heard much about Torched so thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
