Summary: (from goodreads) From bestselling author Karen McQuestion—a brand new, spellbinding novel.

The night Russ Becker witnesses a strange astronomical event, his world changes forever. Before long Russ discovers he's developed incredible superpowers, and he’s not the only one. Three other young people—beautiful Mallory, arrogant Jameson, and mysterious Nadia—have had the same experience and all of them now have powers of their own. Mallory can control peoples’ minds, Jameson moves objects with his thoughts, and Nadia has empathic abilities.

At first the four relish their newfound gifts, but things become serious when they learn they are being hunted by an organization that wants them for its own nefarious purposes. When Russ’s family is threatened, he’s forced into action. What transpires will change all of them in ways they never imagined.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. It was so much action from the very beginning to the very end. It even had a lot of romance in it. Its the type of book that you read about a boy that loves a girl and would do anything to get close to her. The entire time you are cheering him on to get the girl. Russ Becker is just a normal high school student that gets good grades, has friends and lives a normal life. Well lately he hasn't been able to sleep at night. So he found out if he went out walking around his neighborhood and to places that he wouldn't get caught that he can actually sleep at night. His parents sent him to a doctor to have him put on sleeping pills and they didn't work. So the only thing that did was going outside at night and walking. He started to get to know the neighbor hood and he noticed every night at the same time certain people inside their houses would do the same thing every night. While out on one of his strolls at night he witnesses the coolest thing in the sky. He notices lights that look like fireballs in the sky. So he goes running and gets inside the circle and he lets the lights fall all over him. After he witnesses that things start to change for him. There is a new girl at school named Mallory that is in his science class that sits in front of him. Well his science teacher ask the students if any of them saw the lights the night before. Russ knew he has. So he wants to tell the teacher so bad. But before he could the new girl Mallory fakes like she is having a seizure. Then all of a sudden Mallory wants Russ to join this secret group of theirs. But what he finds out will change his life forever. Russ finds out that in this group there is two other kids. Their names are Nadia that keeps to herself and Jameson that drives Russ nuts because he also likes Mallory. He finds out that all three of them have magic powers.

If you have time and really want to read a page turner that is really really great and can't wait to read the sequel to it. Pick up this book and read it. You will love it. I loved the story plot and the characters. Don't walk to the story run to the store and get this book. I was so disappointed because the book ended and then I saw that they put the sequel preview in the book also. I had to read it to see what happens next and was disappointed when it was only a couple of pages...

  1. From what your review, this sounds like my kind of book (: And I definitely love me some kick-butt action. Say that there's no love triangle and I'm sold. Thanks for the review!
