Descended from witches, Nadia senses a dark and powerful magic at work in her new town. Mateo has lived in Captive’s Sound his entire life, trying to dodge the local legend that his family is cursed - and that curse will cause him to believe he’s seeing the future … until it drives him mad. When the strange dreams Mateo has been having of rescuing a beautiful girl—Nadia—from a car accident come true, he knows he’s doomed.

Despite the forces pulling them apart, Nadia and Mateo must work together to break the chains of his family’s terrible curse, and to prevent a disaster that threatens the lives of everyone around them. Shimmering with magic and mystery, New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s new novel is sure to draw fans of the Hex Hall and Caster Chronicles series, and fans of the hit CW TV show The Secret Circle.

When I received this book I saw the author and loved reading her Evernight Series. The Evernight series was so good from the beginning to the end and it didn't disappoint you at all. I loved the series and was disappointed when the series ended. Then I seen that she started another series and thought I would give it a try. All I can say is I loved the characters and the theme of the story. It was a fast moving story that kept you on your toes at all times. I couldn't put the book down and fell in love with it. So take a chance and read this book if you loved her other series.

The main character Nadia and her brother and father move to a little place called Captive Sound and she realizes that it's so much more then she expected. The reason why she moved there with her family is because her dad got a job and their mother left them a year ago and never wants to see her brother and her. It bothers her so much but knows she has no control over it. So she just takes it day after day. But the one thing that is bothering her is that she is a witch and really needs someone to practice with but has nobody to practice with. The only person that she did was her own mother. The other character in the story that I fell in love with was Mateo. Mateo keeps on having these dreams about this beautiful girl named Nadia from a car accident. But he tries not to think to hard about it because there is a local legend that his family is insane. So he tries to put that behind him but when he keeps on having this dream it bothers him. Until one night that dream he kept having comes true. Nadia father is driving along the road and loses control of the car and goes over the embankment and crashes into a pond and Nadia has her father get her brother out first and he said he will be back for her after he gets him to safety. Then all of sudden Mateo comes in and rescues Nadia. After all those things happen that is when everything starts to happen to Nadia and Mateo.

You will not be disappointed with this series and you will love it from the beginning to the very end. If you loved her Evernight series then you will love this one. I loved everything about it. Take a chance and read it. If you don't like it then that is your opinion. If you love it I am glad you do.
