Top Ten Books I Thought I'd Like More/Less Than I Did.

  • Matched by Ally Condie - I wasn't moved like everyone else by it
  • The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - I did not like at all. Its disturbs me to read when children are murdered.
  • Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton - I didn't care for this book. The main protagonist was a very weak character.
  • Glass Houses by Rachel Caine - This book was highly recommended and it left me hanging.
  • The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith - I loved the original books from the 90's but the new releases just didnt have the same pizazz.
  • Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar - Must have read at the wrong time, this book just felt very bland.
  • The Submissive by Tara Sue Me - When read as a fan fiction, I LOVED but the new edited version that was published felt as if parts I love were removed. Felt like I read a different book.
  • Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma - This book rocked me in such a unexpected way. It was brilliant!
  • Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren - I never thought I would adore a Christian historical YA book and series as much as I did for Waterfall.
  • Don't Breathe a Word by Holly Cupala - The book was so powerful and Epic, Holly created a masterpiece I never expected I would love so much.

  1. I liked Matched a lot, but I read it when I wasn't reading as much as I am now. I don't think I would like it if I'd read it now. Also, there was a time when I loved the Gossip Girl books, but when I re-read them I was like, what? Why did I ever like this? Hmm.

  2. I hated "The Lovely Bones". I just couldn't stand the kid being murdered and the subsequent intrigue from the sister investigating a little. It seemed like she wanted to write a mystery/thriller but got sucked into another genre altogether.

  3. Totally with you on Matched. It's on my list, too. I didn't like the Lovely Bones, either and am always surprised when people rave about it.

  4. Forbidden was amazing! Definitely a favorite.

I've been hearing the same thing about The Vampire Diaries. I do want to read at least the original books, and probably the Stefan's Diaries.

  5. The Anita Blake series takes about 3 books before it picks up...Anita's character grows with each book. I agree with The Vampire Diaries...LOVED the 90s books but there was something missing from the new ones.

  7. I could bear with Matched; it was an OK book for me. I picked it up because of its cool bookcover~ But then, I tried reading the next book in the series, and I could not stand it!
