Summary: (from goodreads) No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Opal picks up where Onyx left off. Dawson is back, but things still aren't that great. Everyone is still mourning the death of Adam, especially Dee. Dee who has turned cold mainly towards Katy. They all set off on a mission that may or may not be successful... with the help of an enemy. And how could I forget about the super hot Daemon, him and Katy's relationship is blossoming, and he's set on proving his feelings for her. And boy does he do just that!

My initial thought as soon as the book ended: Did I just read that?

We get to see a more open, romantic and sweet Daemon. A lot of the book focused on him and Katy's relationship. I am kind of disappointed that we don't get nearly as much "snarky Daemon." But when you think about it, it makes sense. He is growing, and changing so it's only obvious that he's opening up more. Trust me though, his sweetness will still make you swoon. Daemon = perfect!

Although there wasn't as much action in this book as previous ones, it was still a great fit into the series. The action we do get had me holding my breath! So, so thrilling.

Okay, and I can't bite my tongue any longer, all I have to say is that cliffhanger is killing me and I cannot wait for the next installment in the Lux series.
