Kim Carmichael
About Kim Carmichael: Kim Carmichael began writing eight years ago when her need for happy endings inspired her to create her own. She has a weakness for bad boys and techno geeks, and married her own computer whiz after he proved he could keep her all her gadgets running. When not writing, she can usually be found slathered in sunscreen trolling Los Angeles and helping top doctors build their practices

OUaT: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a rep by day, author by night. I write what I know. I love purses and anything with an expensive label.

OUaT: When did you first start writing and when did you finish your book?

Nine years ago and yes I finished all 300,000 words of it.

OUaT: How did you choose the genre you write in?

I like to write what I know so I chose contemporary. Sometimes I write paranormal but then I can make my own reality.

OUaT: Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

Johanna Lindsay, she is just fun and I love that.

OUaT: Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?

Oh my, I dealt with having to learn the craft of writing, I dealt with rejection, and I dealt with having to get excess people out of my life.

OUaT: If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?

I would have stayed true to my vision earlier.

OUaT: Can you tell us about your upcoming book?

Closure is a story about reclaimed lost love. What happens when you get a second chance.

OUaT: Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

I was inspired by a signature in my senior high yearbook.

OUaT: What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

The part with the coconut cake cause I could see it happening so clearly

OUaT: What project are you working on now?

My ten book contemporary romance series.

OUaT: Will you have a new book coming out soon?

Yes, Trifecta, a typical romance that just happens to have three people. Right now it is part of a box set.

OUaT: What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What as been the best compliment?

Toughest criticism was an edit from one of my publishers who ripped a few things apart I thought I had down pat. Best compliment was when a publisher came to me for my book.

OUaT: Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I have the most amazing fans, I love you and thank you.

OUaT: Tell us your latest news?

A box set I was in recently hit number one in Erotica on Amazon.

OUaT: When and why did you begin writing?

I began writing when I read a story and something popped in my head and I thought I could do that. It was nine years ago.

OUaT: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

When I got a book deal for for the entire series based off the first book
