Top Ten Creepiest Book Covers Out There

• Cryer's Cross by Lisa McMann : This original cover drew me in so quickly and didn't let me down. One of my top favorite creep-tastic stories written. The new cover doesn't do it for me, I feel it takes away from the creepy factor inside its pages.

Frost by Marianna Baer : Yes its as creepy as its looks, another great scary story that will have you thinking.

Possess by Gretchen McNeil : Gretchen is the Queen of writing creepy, scary and insane books.

• Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick
• Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith
• The Replacement
by Brenna Yovanoff

• Asylum by Madeleine Roux
• Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender

• It by Stephen King
• Flowers In The Attic by V. C. Andrews

* On these last two covers, They are super creepy! I just can't handle clowns, if you saw the Stephen King's It TV mini-series, then you had to be affected like I was when it came to clowns. I now can't go near them without getting freaked out.

And your probably wondering why did I pick the Flowers in the Attic redesigned cover as creepy? HELLO! If you read this book back in the day, then you know this cover is just wrong, like I said CREEPY! EWWWWWW! The cover is pretty if this was a normal contemporary romance but inside the pages is anything but normal. Below you will see older cover designs for Flowers in the Attic that are definitely more fitting tot he story. Again creepy!!!!!

  1. the covers are creepy enough to scare me, happy halloween. kelley—the road goes ever ever on

  2. You've got some great covers on your list! Really creepy!

  3. The Replacement is one of my favorite covers ever, I didn't really enjoy the story but I love the cover. I have also been meaning to read Asylum for a while now, I really need to get on that!

  4. I really love The Replacement's cover...I hate clowns, though. They make my skin crawl...

  5. Haha yes to V.C. Andrews Flowers in the Attic! That cover is wrong on so many levels.

That cover of IT with the clown is why I will never read that book. No to clowns, just no.

Cryer's Cross is a scary looking one too, and we are both creeped out by Asylum :)

    Happy spooky reading!

  6. Dude that It cover is going to give me nightmares! Great picks tho!

    Here's My TTT

  7. I agree with you on the Cryer's Cross point, all of Lisa McMann's books should just keep their original covers because the new ones don't have nearly as much impact.

    Roxy @ Story Envy

  8. You are so right about the new Flowers in the Attic cover - back in the day when I read it, I read the one with the black cover - fits the book much better :-)

And yes, Tim Curry's Pennywise the clown is the scariest thing in the whole world. It was bad enough seeing him in the movie, but having him stare out at me from a book cover? ::shudders::
