"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.
At a Glance:
I am usually not a fan of alternative point of view, let alone past and future settings. I get extremely confused and most of the times I just stop reading the book. All Our Yesterdays contains both. I’ve been recommend by a few of my friends and I lost the battle to ignore them. I am surprise that I did not give up on this book because these reasons. It was so good I couldn’t put it down.

I love the contrast between the dark gray and the firing gold. It makes the cover stand out. Once you take a closer look, you see the clouds are in a blur, as time passing and the speed of the clock makes you wonder. Pretty unique if I may say so.

I love a good action and this book had way too many! In every page there was always something going on. I love how it provided clues for you to put theories together.

Em and Finn are one heck of a couple. These two tried so hard to make things better and failed many times. Yet their determination never let them slow down. And for this they have my respect. I would’ve given up trying to make my future a better place. Going back to the past was not easy for them yet they wanted to change courses.

Okay, so I am not a fan of love triangle. Enough is enough but it worked in this story. It was a very complicated story and when you get to the part where it all is put in place, you will know why Em is so conflicted.

Something I loved:
I am a fan of twist plots and I loved this one.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, All Our Yesterday took me by surprise. I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. This thriller story had me on edge every time I started a new chapter.

  1. I've heard great things about this book! Glad you seemed to love it too. I'm that way with love triangles too, but I've made exceptions for some books/series because they just worked.

  2. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this one either, but like you, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I'm not the biggest fan of alternating POVs but once I found out what was going on, I surprisingly really enjoyed it! I could understand why she had such a hard time choosing between the two, but I adore Finn the most personally!! I'm really glad to hear you loved it! Great review, Leydy! :D

  3. I'm the same as you. I was expecting this to be not very good, mainly because I think time travel is hard to get right, but I just couldn't put it down!
