Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.

Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

Ugh, I’m so upset I didn’t read this book sooner! I loved it so much! To be honest the cover threw me off and I won’t lie I didn’t know it was a new adult book either. Suddenly Royal is about Samantha Rousseau, a normal girl working towards her master’s degree in wildlife studies, until a dinner with a duchess of a small country, Lilaria, completely changes her life. Samantha decides to learn about her ancestors and do the whole “Duchess Rousseau,” she moves to Lilaria and learns what her new life has in store for her. There for her through her entire uprooting of her life is the prince, Alex D’Lysnal, also known as Prince Yummy. Samantha has to learn how to deal with the extremely different life and fight off her feelings for the Prince.

I love love love this book! I just hugged it so much after I finished it. I totally regret not reading it sooner, Samantha was so much fun and Alex was just so yummy. So Samantha was just having a normal day working with birds when she is asked to have a dinner with the duchess that is in town. When she gets to the restaurant you get to see her first bit of sass when maître d didn’t believe she was actually there to have dinner with the duchess. That very moment is when I knew Samantha was going to be a very fun character, and that assumption was correct. Then at that dinner we meet Prince Yummy, I mean Alex, and he’s all smoldering, eye linger, smooth talking prince.

Then we get to Lilaria and get introduced to my favorite supportive character, Chadwick, I want a Chadwick, and he’s Samantha’s assistant. That’s another thing with this book, I loved everyone and wanted to get to know them more, which I can’t wait to get my hands on Reckless Royal. The entire time Samantha fights her feelings for Alex; terrified of a public break up, he’s next to take the thrown, and that she won’t be enough for him. How she fought him off is beyond me, I swooned so hard for him, puppy dog eyes and all.

If you’re a sucker for romance go pick this up, totally do it. And while you do that I’m going to go and get Recklessly Royal.
