Maddox Brothers #1

Reading Level: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 1st 2014
Review Source: Atria Books

The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

First off, before you read my thoughts on Beautiful Oblivion. I HIGHLY recommend that if you haven't read Walking Disaster in a while to go back and read the epilogue before reading Beautiful Oblivion or as its been nicknamed BOB. This refresher will help immensely with the ending of BOB.

Now on to BOB. Did anyone really think that we would not fall in love with another Maddox brother. Trenton Maddox is awesome. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of Trent. A guy that hangs out with a friend's child because HE wants to, is pretty awesome in my book. Single guys normally don't do that. Then how he wooed Cami was perfect. He knew she had relationship issues so he never overdid it but he pressured just enough to show he did want to move forward between them. He let Cami guide their future. I can sit here and tell you everything that makes Trenton that "ideal" guy, even with his past. Accidents happen and one shouldn't pay for the rest of their lives like Trenton feel that he should. Cami will help him just like he will help Cami with her own issues. McGuire wrote some great characters I tell ya!

These two will work hard at keeping it friendly but like the summary says when a Maddox falls in love, they love forever and they will not quit easily. We learn that with Travis in Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster. Be prepared for an ending that will come out of no where. Because I am not gonna lie, I NEVER in a million years knew "that" was coming. What is "that"? Your going to have to read to find out. Cannot wait to read the next installment in this new series. I'm still in a BOB hangover and love it.

I loved so many things about BOB but one in particular was the snippets of the beginning of Travis and Abby's future while living through Trenton and Cami's future. That was special. Pretty cool to see Travis from Cami's POV. So now that you are done reading this review, I imagine you are set on getting your hands on BOB. Can't wait to start reading all the reactions to Beautiful Oblivion. McGuire once again hits another one out of the park.
