Angus has loved Charlotte since they were teenagers, but he's tired of waiting for her to realize how good they could be. She's broken his heart one too many times, and it's time to move on with his life. Maybe a position halfway across the country will be just what he needs to get over her. But when Charlotte won't let him go without a fight, Angus has to decide if he's willing to let her in again or if she's too late.

This is the last book in the The Husband Maker series. Although I knew early on where the author was headed with the characters and storyline, I didn’t anticipate the turn that Ms. White would take in this last book. Charlotte is known to some as the husband maker.

The one that always seems to put the perfect couples together but can never really seem to get the perfect match for herself. In book 2, the plot thickens where Charlotte travels to another country to follow and find love, only to realize that love is closer than she thinks. Charlotte is now faced with proving to the man she loves, that she in fact realizes that he is the one! Notice I”m a little selective of the name usage on purpose. I don’t want to spoil any part of this wonderful series.

This is one clean romance that I really hate to see come to an end. Karey white has become one of those authors that I’ll read anything that she has written. Her writing style is so smooth and easy going that picking up this book will be simple. Putting it down will be hard!

Excerpt

Excerpt 1 We walked in silence to the elevator. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Only eight days until you leave.” I kept my eyes anchored on the changing numbers above the door, pretending I didn’t know he was leaving sooner than he’d told me. “Actually, I’m leaving Monday.” “You are?” “I had to pay rent for the whole month of August, so I decided I might as well go a little earlier and get settled in before I get so busy.” “Oh. That makes sense.” The elevator doors opened and a man with a bundle of perfectly behaved balloons stepped off. “You haven’t forgotten dinner, I hope.” I pushed the button for the lobby. “Charlotte, I just—” “No, Angus.” I hoped my voice didn’t sound as desperate as I felt. “Please don’t say you can’t.” He didn’t say anything. “Please.” Angus sighed and shoved his hands in his pockets. “Tomorrow night?” My heart broke a little at his response. He didn’t sound happy at all. He sounded like someone ready to plow through an unpleasant task to get it over with. My pride wanted to tell him to forget the whole thing, but I didn’t. How could I change his mind if I didn’t see him? “Tomorrow’s great,” I said with enough enthusiasm for both of us. “Luigi’s?” “No way. Neither of us need therapy.” That was a lie. “Let’s go somewhere different. Since you’re leaving, let me surprise you. It’ll be fun.” “I’ll drive. I don’t feel like contorting myself into your car.” Angus smiled. It was so lovely, I felt a clutch in my stomach. We stepped out into the angled, evening sunshine and hesitated on the sidewalk. “Where’s your car?” Angus asked. “It’s over there.” “Do you want me to walk you?” “That’s okay, it’s still light.” As soon as the words were out of my mouth, I wanted to take them back. I needed to take advantage of every minute I had with him. “All right. I’ll see you tomorrow.” “See you.” Angus didn’t move when I started walking away. I crossed the road and found my car in the visitor parking lot. I glanced back to see which way Angus had gone, but he was still standing there watching me. It wasn’t until I waved that he turned and walked away.
