Hi guys! Happy to be here for the Fifty Shades of YA Boys event!

Dark, brooding, powerful, mysterious—all those things are apt descriptions of seventeen year old Sebastian Lamarliere, heir to the families of Arnaud and Lamarliere—two of the nine ruling families in New 2, formerly New Orleans. Bastian, as the locals call him, is mostly a loner, a rule breaker, a poet’s soul with a rocker’s attitude. He plays the drums; he shirks his duties as heir, and lives in an abandoned Garden District mansion with four young kids and more recently, Ari Selkirk. And now that he’s had a taste of Ari and his powers have manifested, life has gotten exponentially more complicated for the half vamp, half warlock.

My curiosity was piqued, and since we’re pretty close, I’ve arranged a sit down with the tall, dark-haired soul with the misty gray eyes on a park bench in Jackson Square to ask him about Ari, his intentions, and what he feels he brings to the table…

“Jeez, okay,” he says, surprised by the question. “You want to know what I bring to the table, what I have to offer Ari?” He sits back and stretches his legs out in front of him. One corner of his mouth dips down into a rueful smile. “Short answer: misery.”

At my raised brow, he goes on. “Maybe not right away, but it’ll come. When my nature is too hard to resist, when I don’t want to resist it and do something stupid like . . . nick her skin just to get a…” He groans, leans forward, props his elbows on his knees, and runs his hands over his head, staring at the ground between his boots. “God. I hate this.” He glances at me, eyes full of the same misery he just spoke of. “I hate what I am.”

He straightens. A short, painful laugh escapes him. “She smells amazing. Her hair, her skin… Just thinking about it makes my chest burn and my hands shake.” He goes quiet and stares at the eclectic mix of people in the square His voice is low when he speaks again. “I know what I have to do. Walk away. Piss her off. Get myself as far away as I can. But not yet. Not until we find a way to end her curse. Then I’ll go. I’ll walk. I’ll have to.”

He’s edgy, pissed, and so sad behind the anger. “Look,” he says, rising, “I got to head back to the G.D. We done here?”

I nod and let him go. As he strides through the crowd, people part for him without even realizing they’re doing so. Fear. Respect. Self-preservation. Something inside of them tells them to stay clear. Sebastian is oblivious to it; he has no idea how powerful he really is. One day, he’ll know. Until then, he’ll have to make his own way, his own mistakes, and I guess I’ll be there to pick up the pieces as always. ;-)

NOBODY KNOWS I AM: This close to giving in to temptation.

I WISH I COULD STOP: Feeling shit that others feel.

I'M A SUCKER FOR: Bravery.

A GOOD TIME FOR ME IS: Hanging out in the G.D. with the kids and Ari.

NOBODY WOULD BELIEVE ME IF THEY SAW ME: Use the other power I have... so screwed up.

I'D REALLY RATHER: Bang on drums.

THE FIRST THING I DO IN THE MORNING IS: Stretch.

The books are available on Amazon: Darkness Becomes Her • A Beautiful Evil

Fifty Shades of YA Boys: Day 3 - Vincent - Revenants Series

Welcome to Day 3 of Fifty Shades of YA Boys. Don't miss a single day of this event brought to you by Dark Faerie Tales and Once Upon a Twilight. The event does not stop until July 31st. Each site has their own sets of Hot YA Boys and giveaways to share with everyone. Follow hashtag #FiftyShadesYABoys on twitter.

Today its all about the dreamy Vincent from Amy Plum's Revenants Series. The Revenants Series consist of Die for Me (#1), Until I Die (#2) and coming next year If I Should Die (#3). If I'm not mistaken Vincent is pretty known in the bookish world. At least I know he is my favorite Revenant. He can probably be yours if your not familiar with him, so sit back and enjoy a little Vincent.

Amy Plum: When I began writing UNTIL I DIE, it had been several months since I had been inside Vincent's head. So I wrote this POV piece to try to connect with him again. It shows Vincent at his most vulnerable - thoughts he only admits to himself. He's not the perfect boyfriend - he has his flaws. But, in my mind, he is a broken hero.
Vincent POV at the beginning of UNTIL I DIE

Kate. She is mine. But she is completely her own. That is one of the things that draws me to her like an insect flitting perilously close to that oh-so-mesmerizing but lethal flame: Kate doesn’t need me. She protects herself against me. She doesn’t want to be consumed, like I am in her.

Kate is everything to me...more important than my own existence. I am obsessed. And not only because I saved her life. Being fixated on the future of one's human rescues is natural for a revenant. But we take steps to avoid that trap. It's dangerous. It's against our code. But in this case it just doesn’t seem wrong.

My kindred might not agree with me, but they wouldn’t dare speak it. My mind is made up. My heart given away. And my body waiting for her to take possession of it.

Although she has agreed to be with me, her promise is contingent on a vow I made—one we both wonder if I can keep. She never speaks about it, but once in a while her eyes flicker to me uncertainly and I know what she is wondering. Can I do it? Can I resist dying, at the cost of my physical comfort and mental stability?

For me it is not a question. It is a requirement. I must find a way to resist death’s powerful enticement. I will not fail. Not only for my own selfish need to have Kate by my side. But for her. I can not hurt her. She has been hurt enough. She deserves a stable life, full of love. And I’ll be damned if I can’t give it to her.

She’s so young. She’s barely seen life. And I can’t help wanting to be the one to show it to her. To see her reactions to each new experience. To see the world through her eyes.

She makes me feel human again. She makes me feel alive, after I was sure that the heart beating in my undead chest had gone completely and permanently numb. She is worth every second of agony that will inevitably come. Because without her, I am a dead man walking.

NOBODY KNOWS I AM: Secretly watching over my murdered girlfriend, Helene's, family.

I WISH I COULD STOP: Pining for Kate. She would be safer if she had never met me.

I'M A SUCKER FOR: Bookish brunettes

A GOOD TIME FOR ME IS: Fight training with my kindred - or even better, real-life fighting with numa. (That's the adrenaline junkie in me talking.)

NOBODY WOULD BELIEVE ME IF THEY SAW ME: Baking macaroons. I know...I don't seem like the type. But Jeanne's taught me to make a mean pastry.

I'D REALLY RATHER: never let Kate out of my sight. But she's independent - totally needs her freedom - and I have lives to save.

THE FIRST THING I DO IN THE MORNING IS: take a quick walk under Kate's window to make sure no numa are stalking her neighborhood

The books are available on Amazon: Die for Me • Until I Die
