Skylar:
“Tell me about it. I wish I caught some very long lasting disease over the weekend, and then I wouldn't have to deal with being matched up with a partner in History today.”

Skylar:
“Yeah, hi. I'm, um, Skylar,” I uttered looking at him for the first time. He was your usual jock type; tall broadly built, short dark brown hair that hung too long in the front, nice warm golden eyes. Nice? Warm? Where did I pull that from?

Skylar:
“Kane, Kane wait. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.” I grabbed his arm to stop him. He turned, grabbed my shoulders and kissed me. It was only a short kiss, but God-all-mighty I felt it right down to my toes. Imagine if he had of used tongue. “And I shouldn't have done that,” He said and continued to walk off. Alexandra: I couldn't help it, I gaped. Was she serious? Me, help Tristan, with Math’s. Me in a room alone with Tristan. Me?

Alexandra:
“You don't like me do you?” He asked. I paused what I was doing and looked at him. “I don't know you. Anyway, would you really care if I didn't?” He shrugged and stood. “I guess not. See you tomorrow, Alex,” He said and left.

Alexandra:
Tristan laughed pulling me close again into his embrace. “You cannot tell me that was your first kiss.” That made me laugh and blush. “Well no, but you’re the second.” “Hmm, I think I like that.” He grinned a big toothy grin which made my insides curl.

Skylar McKenzie is a serious artist with a plan. She'll graduate high school, travel around Europe, then leave her life in Texas and move to New York. She'll also leave her feelings for the boy she's known her whole life, behind and move on. Or so she hopes.

Jackson Cruz is ready for a future as a star quarterback once he graduates high school. It's the path he's been leading for years now. But when his cheerleader girlfriend cheats on him, and a teammate causes a lot of drama, he wonders if this is really the life he's wanted, or if there's something more.

They thought they had it all figured out-their futures. But life doesn't always go as planned. With feelings revealed, their dreams on the line, this is a year for changes, choices, and a love that might or might not overcome all obstacles.

Told in Jackson and Skylar’s POV, this is a story about acceptance, first love, embracing your passions and finding your way, even if it’s not the way you had planned.

A new Young Adult novel, with adult content coming late November 2013.

I don't know where to begin with this book. I loved it from the beginning to the very end. Have you ever read a book that you can't stop thinking about. Your at work or just running errands and you are counting down the time until your at home and in bed reading that book again. I thought about this book for hours and hours. Finally when I read it again I just didn't want to ever put it down. I had to stay up later then usual to try and finish the book and when I reached the very end I was so upset because of the way it ended. Then ending wants you to look forward to the sequel to this book.

Torn was written so well then when your reading it you feel like your part of that book. Sometimes it's really hard to imagine yourself in some of the books that I read or I just hate the characters so much that I can't get into the book. Well with this book I was cheering on the characters until the end of the book. The main characters of this story are madly in love with each other but they don't want to tell each other. Skyler is a artist at school and she is hoping to get into an art school in New York and she's looking forward to traveling Europe with her mother in the summer after she graduates. She lost her father in a accident and she still mourns him throughout the whole story.

The one thing that is bothering her is seeing one of her old best friends that she use to hang out with all the time when she was little, be with another girl in school and outside of school all the time. Plus her best friend is with a girl that is always picking on her and causing her life to be a living hell. Jackson is the old best friend that she is madly in love with. The thing is Skylar hangs out with his brother Jared all the time. She is usually over at Jared and Jacksons house eating dinner and Jared helps her with her homework. But deep down both of these characters are struggling with their feelings for each other. Jackson is this handsome bad boy that is the high school Quarterback, but his feelings are only for Skylar. He is dating the cheerleader Ambur which makes Skylar life a living hell. Jackson is always sticking up for her when he sees Ambur treating her like that and Ambur keeps saying that Jackson loves Skylar and he is always denying it.

Throughout this story both of these characters go through so much that most of us probably witness or even have happen to us in High school. I know a lot of it happen to me. The author wrote about things that you see today in schools. So if a high school girl picked up this book they would feel like they are Sklyar and some boy might feel like Jackson. The best part of this book was the way the author wrote it. She wrote it from both of their views. You will be reading the book and you could be reading about what Skylar is thinking and saying and then the next chapter could be about Jackson and what he is thinking about and doing. I would really recommend this book to for anybody to read. It's a great book with a great theme to it along with awesome characters. It's a fast book to read and is definitely a page turner from the beginning to the very end. This will be the book that you will remember for a long time and you will be counting down the days until you get to read the sequel. Hope she comes out with a sequel. If she does then I am all for it and can't wait to read it.

Stained with heartache and cursed with vengeance, a stone well lies on a nineteenth-century estate, waiting for the Stockton line to wish again.

When seventeen-year-old Lila Wayde's father loses his high-paying job in Las Vegas, the family relocates to a Pennsylvania estate bequeathed by an estranged aunt. Lila begins a new life there, one not corrupted by wealth and fake friends. She soon meets Ben, the grounds keeper's gritty grandson, and experiences the kind of happiness her life's been missing. But as she settles into the ancient house, she learns information about her ancestors and the old stone well that may make her wish she'd never come.

Ben Shadows has lost enough in life. So when Stockton Estate's owner, Janine, wills the land to her great-niece Lila, Ben fears for the fate of the property. He decides to find out Lila's intentions as the new owner, but his grandfather wants him to protect her from Stockton Estate's alleged curse. As Ben helps Lila dig through the estate's history, they grow closer than he ever intended. Now, along with concerns about the property and the reality of the curse, he struggles with feelings he can't ignore.

Will the secrets of Stockton Estate bring them together or will knowing the truth rip them apart?

This a great story ... GREAT story. It's nothing like I expected, but pleasantly unexpected!!

Lila (LJ) is seventeen and just learned that her great aunt Janine has passed away. She was left the Stockton Estate, which houses a huge mansion. Her mother left her family for drugs and alcohol, while her father loses his high paying job at a casino. The family was able to move a few months before Lila inherits the house at the age of eighteen. It turns out to be a huge change for her. She is used to the high life, with friends that match. Lila is unsure of how this life will turn out now that they are in Pennsylvania.

Benjamin (Ben) is the groundskeepers grandson. He also inherits part of the estate. Pop (the grandfather) is not too happy about this, due to the Stockton Curse. Ben cannot figure out why it was left to him, but he graciously accepts. This way, he and Pop can continue living on the property, and keep their jobs.

The Stockton curse was started way back in 1864, by a heart broken woman. She was in love with a man who was preparing to marry another. This woman vowed that she would never forget, but she would make sure his family never remembered. This curse was tied to the well on the property.

**excerpt**
The Stockton curse runs deep and transcends time. The rumor was that it gave Janine the power to grant other people wishes. In return, the curse supposedly claimed her memories.

Ben didn't believe in the curse. He wished many wishes and was never granted any. It didn't save the life of his girlfriend, after all.

Lila and Ben start to become close. Pop asked Ben to befriend Lila and keep her protected from the curse. Ben has apprehensions, but he would do anything for Pop, so he reluctantly agrees. The two become closer than either of them ever expected. They belong together, they complete each other.

Do the two end up together? Is the curse real? Does this person truly lose their memories?

Only you can find out by reading The Line That Binds. I have definitely found another great author, in which I will follow. Next in line...The Line That Breaks by JM Miller!!

EXCERPT:

"Oh, Genie," Pop sighed through his white mustache and let his bald head fall for a moment. He wiped a hand beneath his eyes before he moved to the desk. Upton slid paperwork in front of him to sign and handed him a stack to keep. When he returned to his chair, we both stared at each other. Pop's heavy eyes were glassed with conflict. I saw the relief hanging in them, knowing the house that had become our home would remain ours. But there was more there. His eyes dropped to the paper outlining the small portion of property now declared his. It was not all of Stockton Estate. "The curse," he said with a sigh.

Pop and Janine believed the property's stone well was responsible for her Alzheimer's. "It's cursed," he'd said years ago, shortly after I'd moved in. As a kid, it was easy enough to believe. I'd gone to the well several times with my own wishes, my own desperate cries. Wished my mother and father loved me enough to stop their addictions. Wished for Harper's life the night she overdosed. But even though I was willing to take my chances with the curse, Pop told me later that the only person the well wanted was Janine and that somehow her blood was forever linked to it. "The Stockton curse runs deep and transcends time," he'd said. The rumor was that it gave Janine the power to grant other people's wishes. In return, the curse supposedly claimed her memories. That's why Pop was worried now. Janine may be gone, but her blood was back. Family blood.
