Let's talk how I did not know Midnight Jewel would follow the same timeline of Adelaide's in The Glittering Court. However, we didn't get an introduction of the world, no, instead we got badass Mira. It was mind-blowing and very entertaining, to be reading the same story but in someone else point of view. Trust me, it threw me off at first but then, I couldn't get enough. Here are my top reason why you should read Midnight Jewel:

Mirabel Viana 

Mira is a badass! She has a warrior heart and her ninja skills are to die for! I loved her so so much. She has a noble heart yet resilient. Did I mentioned I love her? What I love most about her is how she is able to remain calm when she is being confronted but the girl knows how to get her revenge back. So wicked and smart.

Pirates and late night escapades.

Mira is a ninja in disguise. There are many night escapades she leaves the court to do what she thinks is best and help out pirates. This is the only way Mira is able to fight injustice and corruption on her own terms.

Oh, the banter

When there is a strong woman and a hot aloof guy she is attracted, expect banters. Lots of them.

Grant Elliott

A sarcastic spy. Oh my... He may not be friendly, but he is a loyal one.

Swoony romance

So if you like banters between two people with chemistry, you better believe there are swoony moments. For a minute or two, Mira and Grant will argue with one another but the other, they sure will make you feel like you're reading the classic tale of love, Pride and Prejudice.  The swoony romance moments are definitely worth reading Midnight Jewel.

I hope you read Midnight Jewel and enjoy it as much as I did. Mira is someone we should all admire.

As much as I always enjoy Richelle's novels due to the actions and romance, you all know I am obsessed with Adrian, The Glittering Court brings in something else. Something that many books nowadays do not over and that is the beauty of a friendship. A friendship that last through trials and difficult times. One that's inspiring and makes you wish to have more friends like Adelaine, Tamsin and Mira. After all, you're friends are the family you get to pick. You can fight and argue but you know you they will always have your back. It's pretty much a friendship like Blaire and Sabrina...

The girls will take you to an amazing ride. They will keep each other's secret and will not judge each other. They're there for a purpose and they will do their best to make it to the top. As you read the story, each of these characters will stand out as individuals as well as a group. I loved this so much about this book. The fact that with such circumstances, these girls are able to make their friendship work even with a competitive environment.  

Although the book touches the subject of romance, it focuses more on the friendship side. We learn so much about this world, the politics and what the girls are assigned to be part of The Glittering Court. It's so well described, you wish you were part of the girls. Adeline, Tamsin, and Mira are fantastic characters. They're strong, independent individuals choosing a better life for themselves.

So if you want to read a story about friendship with fantastic characters, you should read The Glittering Court. I do have to point out there were times the pacing of the story would slow. Then again, this is Richelle Mead we are talking about. As she introduces you to her world in the first installment, she's just warming you to what's about to come. Therefore, prepare! I'm so excited for the sequel...

If I'd the opportunity to start at a Glitter Court, I would like to attend one that reminds me of Stadium High School. I've been obsessed with this building... school, ever since 10 Things I Hate About You was filmed there. It's such a beautiful place to study! Just look at the architect! Who wouldn't want to attend and learn at this school?

Having Stadium High School as my Glittering Court would be great. However, this experience would be better if I had these fictional characters attend with me.

As far as Gemstone, I am not a fan of my birthstone since it's pink. I do like ruby as red is my favorite color. And Mira is adorable in the story. However, when I realized Penguin Teen has a test at Buzzfeed to take to learn my jewel type, I had to take it.
