OK I really did want to love this second book in the series more than the first one. I was about 175-200 pages in and just was not connecting with the characters or the story or possibly both. Maybe it was not the right time for me to pick this book up yet. I hardly will say I blame my age when I read YA books, because YA is 95% of what I read. I do think maybe this time around I might be to old for this series, not sure. I'm trying to dissect why I didn't connect. Individually I like Eden's character and Az also. I did understand more of Leah's world building and who and what characters are, but since I read A Touch Mortal back in April of last year, I think I forgot quite a bit about the story and that had me confused at times again reading A Touch Morbid. I can tell you I LOVE the covers for this series. Something about the simple girl on cover with punk hair is a WIN WIN for me. So basically did I dislike the book that would be a NO but was I lost YES.

A Touch Morbid starts with Eden and Az are finally together and Gabriel is in hiding. Everyone is keeping life changing secrets of course from one another. Eden will have to decide if she will continue to trust in Kristen and work with her or possibly start to work with Madeleine. Will pacts break? Questions will be answered but guess what? New questions will arise also. Be prepared for some hot scenes and some foul language but if you read A Touch Mortal then you know what to await in this installment. Also be prepared for that mighty cliff hanger, it a doozey!!!
