Summary: (from goodreads) Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past.

She can’t.

She used to think her problems were all in her head.

They aren’t.

She couldn’t imagine that after everything she’s been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets.

She’s wrong.

In this gripping sequel to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, the truth evolves and choices prove deadly. What will become of Mara Dyer next?

Where to begin? What an amazing sequel! OMG Michelle, you have totally screwed with our heads AGAIN!! I LOVE IT! If you think the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer was amazing, wait until you read the Evolution of Mara Dyer. It will leave you breathless and ready to check yourself into a mental hospital. Like Yara put it in her review for Evolution of Mara Dyer, it is a "total mind $#&@!!

WARNING: If you haven't read the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, this review will have some spoilers.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer starts off with Mara in a mental hospital. After her father's "accident" and seeing her thought to be dead ex-boyfriend, Jude, at the police station, her parents think it would best for her to get treated. After all, she does have PTSD, right? Hmm.. Luckily she manages to convince her parents to get her out and try an outpatient treatment instead of being sent away to a mental facility. Noah is still there by her side – thank God! Oh, how I love that boy. But my favorite character has to be Jamie. He is hilarious and I just love his overly sarcastic personality. Mara sees him again at the new treatment center. I am so glad that Michelle brings him back in the second book. The creepiest part in the book for me has to be the parts with the doll. First, I grew up terrified of dolls and all thanks to "Chucky." I'm sure some of you can relate. Well, Michelle definitely brings that creepy element here. The ending was another cliffhanger and it made me cry like a baby.

I bought the book for my Nook at midnight and went to bed, but I just kept thing about it, so finally at 3 a.m. I couldn’t take it anymore and started reading it. The bad part was being at work that same morning and not really concentrating on my work because all I wanted was to read. Needless to say, I went straight home and read every chance I got. It was my mission to read it before I saw Michelle at her book signing in Miami which I was able to do. The weather was horrible because Hurricane Sandy was moving right by us and the rain and wind was unbelievable. So, am I obsessed with this series? Yes! Would I drive to see Michelle Hodkin while a hurricane is blowing? Yes (and already did)! This series is just that good. So, if you love scary, creepy and books that mess with your head, I strongly suggest you start reading this series. How an author can write amazing passionate love scenes and then turn around and write such creepy and scary ones is simply amazing. Michelle Hodkin can pull that off and is brilliant at it. I can't wait for the third book to be released. I hate playing the waiting game, but the wait will be all worth it - this I know for sure.
