If seventeen-year-old Skylar Evans were a typical Creek View girl, her future would involve a double-wide trailer, a baby on her hip, and the graveyard shift at Taco Bell. But after graduation, the only thing standing between straightedge Skylar and art school are three minimum-wage months of summer. Skylar can taste the freedom—that is, until her mother loses her job and everything starts coming apart. Torn between her dreams and the people she loves, Skylar realizes everything she’s ever worked for is on the line.

Nineteen-year-old Josh Mitchell had a different ticket out of Creek View: the Marines. But after his leg is blown off in Afghanistan, he returns home, a shell of the cocksure boy he used to be. What brings Skylar and Josh together is working at the Paradise—a quirky motel off California’s dusty Highway 99. Despite their differences, their shared isolation turns into an unexpected friendship and soon, something deeper.

I’ll Meet You There is one of my many anticipated books of 2015. Since this book is highly hyped, I was worried. Thankfully, I was worrying for nothing. I was quite satisfied to learned that Heather Demetrios delivered a powerful and inspiring story. Trust me, this one is worth the read.

I love when opposite attracts. Love is blind and sure is hard to find. But when we find love, it’s hard to control. I’ll Meet You There is the perfect example.

We meet Skylar, the girl with many dreams. The girl with a bright future ahead of her. The girl that will leave her small-town, Creek View, behind and do what she is meant to do. Then we meet Josh. The damaged and uncontrollable boy. The boy that left Creek View and joined the Marines. He hoped to never returned but unforeseen circumstances brought him back, minus a leg. What brings them together is their summer job. They both work at a small road-side motel. Even though Josh is a jerk to Skylar at times,  Skylar is compassionate towards him. In three months, we see a simple act of kindness can make a big difference. As they get closer, things get complicated. Yet when love is involved, it conquers all.

I really enjoyed this book. I slowly felt in love with the characters. Skylar’s story is inspiring. Josh’s journey brought me to tears. Together, these two made an unforgettable love story. They helped each other to overcome their problems. They made each other better.

What I loved most about I’ll Meet You There is how real it felt. Beautifully written, this book will make you believe that you are them. The struggles they go through are real. We heard about them everyday. Their struggles becomes yours. They will break you. Their hopes will become yours. They will make you whole. Such a surreal feel.

Basically, I’ll Meet You There is a must read!
