Movie Review: Justice League - #JusticeLeague

#JusticeLeague
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The wait is finally over. Justice League is finally here and it was worth the wait. Now begins the wait for all the other future DC movies, which after seeing Justice League, you want the time to speed up of course.

Where does one begin with Justice League? Plus how does one not compromise the movie without giving away too much. So I’ll try and give you enough without giving you the whole movie. Justice League personally for me, had a great timing about it. You got spurts of action, then it would be just simple dialogue and it did that throughout the full movie. It wasn’t super heavy on the battle scenes, we got to witness more than just how well these characters fight. Superheroes have soft sides too, well maybe not Aquaman (lol).

So let’s begin with the beginning and work towards the end. Crime is everywhere! Superman dying cause such angst and despair, that now you have to think before you venture out. Batman is up to his eyeballs in bad guys, and these new bug like robots flying around causing havoc too. Losing their beacon of hope (Superman) really has cause huge turmoil, that you have to wonder how it can be turned around.

Batman as I mentioned is swamp with saving Gotham. Wonder Woman is across the pond also fighting the bad guys. The new faces such as Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg are introduced one at a time. Bruce Wayne must bring together this band of Superheroes, before end of times is upon everyone. When Bruce gets confirmation of what is already upon them, he ask for Diana’s help in recruiting of the rest of the team. This is when Bruce finally gets the story about what is happening from Arthur aka Aquaman. And what is going down is not good at all for mankind.

Once the “Justice League” is formed, this is when the movie really finds its groove. Everyone has a purpose in saving Earth. And if you watched Batman vs. Superman, did you really expect that Superman died for good? If your like me, you know it just can’t be and in Justice League, he does make his return. When and how, you’ll just have to see to know.

Other characters you will get a glimpse off for future DC movies are Shazam, Deathstoke and Queen Mera. You pretty much cheer and/or clap every time you see someone new make a camo. Deathstroke was probably the loudest cheering of them all. Justice League fans really like their villains.

As far as the new guys on the team, I loved Barry Allen aka the Flash. His jokes are pretty funny when least expected. He was a great casting choice for that part. I thought I would have a hard time accepting this Flash, since I’m a big fan of The CW’s tv version. Then let’s talk Cyborg, my heart broke for his back story. The kid had it all and then lost it, to wake up a machine. He needed the Justice League! So Victor aka Cyborg finds a purpose in life again after being transformed by his father Silas that worked at S.T.A.R. Labs. Then we go to the Arthur aka Aquaman, his character tripped me out. He doesn’t want to show that deep down inside past those muscles and tattoos, lies a soft spot. Loved his snark, and the “pitch fork” too, as Batman called it. In my opinion all the characters, new and old, have good chemistry in this film.

So I know your wondering if I’m gonna talk about Clark aka Superman at all. Well if you believe that Superman is dead and wasn’t coming back, then “what is wrong with you?”. Of course he comes back, how, when and why, I already said I won’t give away. But the Man of Steel does come back to us and once again the people will have their beacon. I want to say so much more but you’ll thank me for staying quiet about Superman. I want you to feel everything I felt when he returned to us.

Justice League is a great beginning to what is to come from DC. Jack Snyder delivers once again, but he does lighten the “mood” in Justice League compared to Batman vs. Superman. I don’t have to tell anyone to go see it, I know you all will. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Read the Book that Inspired the Movie 'Live by Night'

Before you see Live by Night in theaters, you might want to read the book that inspired the film.

In Live by Night, Ben Affleck directed, wrote and stars in the film. Definitely a must see!

Live by Night opens nationwide on January 13, 2017 but you can watch it early in select theaters on December 25th.

Here is the book that has now become a major motion picture:

From New York Times bestselling author Dennis Lehane comes this epic, unflinching tale of the making and unmaking of a gangster in the Prohibition Era of the Roaring Twenties—now a Warner Bros. movie starring Ben Affleck, Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana, and Sienna Miller.

Meticulously researched and artfully told, Live by Night is the riveting story of one man’s rise from Boston petty thief to the Gulf Coast’s most successful rum runner, and it proves again that the accolades New York Times bestseller Lehane consistently receives are well deserved. He is indeed, “a master” (Philadelphia Inquirer) whose “true literary forefathers include John Steinbeck as well as Raymond Chandler” (Baltimore Sun). And, “Boy, does he know how to write” (Elmore Leonard).

Is It March 25th Yet? - #BatmanvSuperman

Guys and Gals, I can't begin to tell you how excited I am that we are only 1 month away from the theatrical release of my most anticipated movie of 2016!

Who is ready to see:

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

If you have been to the movies lately you probably saw the trailer I dubbed, my most favorite for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. It finally showed us Wonder Woman. I think the dialogue at the end of the trailer between Superman and Batman when Wonder Women shows up is AWESOME. I was giddy with excitement.

Here is the trailer just in case you haven't seen this one:

And check out the Official Final Trailer of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:

And tell me this movie posters aren't fantastic?!?!:

Movie Trailers: Suicide Squad | The Man from U.N.C.L.E. | Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

These movie trailers were released during this year's San Diego Comic Con International. So if you were like me and unavailable to see them when they were released, you can catch up now.

First up we have DC Entertainment's big one coming out August 2016 that is bringing several A-listers.

SUICIDE SQUAD

Suicide Squad has a crazy line-up of stars:
  • Ben Affleck as Batman
  • Will Smith as Deadshot
  • Jared Leto as The Joker
  • Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang
  • Cara Delevingne as Enchantress
  • Jay Hernandez as El Diablo
  • Adam Beach as Slipknot
  • Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc
  • and many more!!!
Suicide Squad hits theaters nationwide August 5th 2016!

Next up we have another I'm excited for since its stars one of my favorite (sexy) actors. Henry Cavill of course! Enjoy the 5 minute long trailer now.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Here is the synopsis:
In the early 1960s, CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organization, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. hits theaters August 14th 2015.

And last but definitely not the least, this next trailer I have been patiently waiting for since this movie is probably the one movie I am seriously waiting big time for. I know many are tooooooo!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman will finally meet Superman, who isn't excited for this match up!!! Its about freaking time too. Plus the eye candy is pretty sweet if I say so. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman and Ben Affleck will be the newest actor to take on the role of Batman.

Synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis' most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters nationwide on March 25th 2016.

And there you have it folks just a couple of movie trailer that were released during this year's Comic Con in San Diego.

Yara's movie reflection:

Thanks to 20th Century Fox I was able to view the film. I went in not knowing what would happen because I had not gotten around to reading the novel first. Michelle from our team had actually been the one to read the novel back in 2013 and then she went to an advance screening of Gone Girl and shared her movie review last October. I didn't read her review, so that when I finally was able to see the film, I would be surprised the whole time.

Man, was I was something worse. Surprised was the least of my emotions. The movie kept me in suspense every single second, mouth hanging open and me sitting on the edge of the sofa. I would say out-loud my theories and then next scene would happen and it would completed annihilate my theory. I never guessed correctly what happen to Amy Dunne. That makes for a great movie.

If you didn't make it out to the theaters when Gone Girl released or even if you did, you MUST WATCH this film (again). You will not be let down. Just make sure you have time to sit and enjoy it, because the film is 149 minutes long. But worth every second you watch it. And that ending, KILLED ME!

On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne reports that his wife, Amy, has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife? Written by Twentieth Century Fox

Stunned. A deer in headlights. I am positive that is the look that was on my face when the ending credits began to roll. I had read the book in 2013 so I was aware of how the story would play out. I just had no idea that it would be portrayed so perfectly on screen.

Nick and Amy Dunne, their marriage has fallen apart to say the least. Beginning as most do with smiles across a crowded room, romantic gestures, steamy sex in the most unexpected places, the fun stuff that makes you feel numb to the world around you because all that matters is you and your new person.

And then reality sets in. A young couple caring for a sick parent, the loss of a job, the stress of a failing business and infidelity. That’s just about enough to make anyone go insane. In our story, it is Amy who loses her mind, while Nick remains oblivious to the fact that she has had enough. Don’t mess with Amy, she won’t stay the victim for long.

Amy is gone, missing from her home. Nick, he is the main suspect. How did things get this bad? The real story of love gone wrong unfolds, Nick isn’t the perfect husband. Amy is not the perfect wife.

This movie will keep you wondering. It will surprise and shock you. By the middle of the movie I remembered how much I disliked Amy. Amazing Amy is a bitch and that is putting it nicely!

You don’t have to have read the book to follow the movie, it does well as a stand alone. It does have its’ moments that are obviously not for younger teens, some brief sex scenes and some pretty intense acts of violence that don’t last long on screen but definitely made a lasting impression in my memory!

Gone Girl is long, so grab your snacks and settle in. This is going to take you on a long, unbelievable ride you aren’t soon to forget!

Have you read the novel???
