Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.
I haven't seen all Mission Impossible movies (I stopped at part 3, and we are at part 6 now) for no particular reason other than I just never got around to it. But, what does this movie have that's special and made me jump on the opportunity to review it for you all? Not going to lie, it was Henry Cavill. Sure the movies are cool and Tom Cruise (who still looks the same he did 10 years ago! How does he do it?!) is an amazing action actor, but my little heart just loves Henry since he was in The Tudors all those years ago. So, I decided to accept to go review this movie and here goes what I think:
The Action. As to be expected, the action in the movie is basically non-stop. It starts, we meet Henry Cavill's character -Walker - and next scene, they're on a plane about to throw themselves off of it and parachute into Paris. Next scene: the infamous bathroom fighting scene that's in the trailer. You have absolutely no time to get bored or let your mind wonder to other things because there's always something going on on the screen. And this girl right here loves these types of movies. I don't do rom-coms or too much drama. Give me fight scenes, car chases, funny one-liners, and explosions all day. This movies satisfied the action-loving girl in me and I loved the motorcycle chase scene (parts of it seen in the trailer). We all know (and probably have seen) Henry is Superman, so those movies also have lots of action, but they're not like it is in this one. I feel he really proved himself to be an awesome action actor as well. The grace and agility with which he moves his incredibly tall and massive (and yummy) frame is just amazing to me.
The Anxiety. As all Tom Cruise action movies are, this movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. I won't lie, I was having anxiety during the motorcycle chase scene because it was just intense. Things are happening here and there and Ethan Hunt in very typical Ethan Hunt style did things his way and unexpectedly and catching everyone by surprise. There were moments in which I thought he was going to follow orders, and then he surprised me with what he actually did and moments in which I didn't know how he was going to get out of the mess he was in, and then he always managed to find a way to do it. I really enjoyed being on the edge of my seat for the duration of the movie because it means it kept my attention (I am diagnosed with ADHD).
The Plot. The plot isn't anything too original in an action movie -of any franchise -but it still was good, I think. There's a lot of trickery and mystery as to whom the real enemy is (because it's never the super obvious ones). I won't spoil it for you guys, but when I watched the trailer there was something (I don't remember what exactly) that gave me the impression that a certain character was the bad guy, so to speak, but then I started to watch the movie, and that wasn't so. Then the movie progresses and it makes you doubt if that's the bad guy or girl, or not. At the end, it was who I thought it was and in the way I thought it was. That part I think was a little predictable and cliche, but the how they caught the person was good, funny, and what happens after was awesome (helicopters, explosions, the whole nine!).
The Storyline. I was able to keep up with the movie and its storyline, except for a few things, but that's not the movie's fault, it's mine for not having seen parts 4 and 5 before watching this (I just didn't think I needed to since each movie is basically standalone with very few things lingering from one movie to the next). I will definitely be re-watching all of them soon though, just to refresh my memory as to some of the things in the story and learn who Simon Pegg's, Ving Rhames's, and Rebecca Ferguson's characters are because they're all vital to the plot and I just love Simon Pegg.
My conclusion is that if you like watching gorgeous men doing lots of action scenes, with little romance here and there, and funny lines, then definitely go see this movie. I can't remember where I saw it or which critic said it (fail, I know), but I agree with what they said: Best Action Movie of 2018, hands down. I enjoyed it a lot and would absolutely re-watch it.
JUSTICE LEAGUE Release: November 17th 2017 Director: Zack Snyder Screenplay by: Chris Terrio, Joss Whedon Cast: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane Justice League Official Channels:Web | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram #JusticeLeague
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
The wait is finally over. Justice League is finally here and it was worth the wait. Now begins the wait for all the other future DC movies, which after seeing Justice League, you want the time to speed up of course.
Where does one begin with Justice League? Plus how does one not compromise the movie without giving away too much. So I’ll try and give you enough without giving you the whole movie. Justice League personally for me, had a great timing about it. You got spurts of action, then it would be just simple dialogue and it did that throughout the full movie. It wasn’t super heavy on the battle scenes, we got to witness more than just how well these characters fight. Superheroes have soft sides too, well maybe not Aquaman (lol).
So let’s begin with the beginning and work towards the end. Crime is everywhere! Superman dying cause such angst and despair, that now you have to think before you venture out. Batman is up to his eyeballs in bad guys, and these new bug like robots flying around causing havoc too. Losing their beacon of hope (Superman) really has cause huge turmoil, that you have to wonder how it can be turned around.
Batman as I mentioned is swamp with saving Gotham. Wonder Woman is across the pond also fighting the bad guys. The new faces such as Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg are introduced one at a time. Bruce Wayne must bring together this band of Superheroes, before end of times is upon everyone. When Bruce gets confirmation of what is already upon them, he ask for Diana’s help in recruiting of the rest of the team. This is when Bruce finally gets the story about what is happening from Arthur aka Aquaman. And what is going down is not good at all for mankind.
Once the “Justice League” is formed, this is when the movie really finds its groove. Everyone has a purpose in saving Earth. And if you watched Batman vs. Superman, did you really expect that Superman died for good? If your like me, you know it just can’t be and in Justice League, he does make his return. When and how, you’ll just have to see to know.
Other characters you will get a glimpse off for future DC movies are Shazam, Deathstoke and Queen Mera. You pretty much cheer and/or clap every time you see someone new make a camo. Deathstroke was probably the loudest cheering of them all. Justice League fans really like their villains.
As far as the new guys on the team, I loved Barry Allen aka the Flash. His jokes are pretty funny when least expected. He was a great casting choice for that part. I thought I would have a hard time accepting this Flash, since I’m a big fan of The CW’s tv version. Then let’s talk Cyborg, my heart broke for his back story. The kid had it all and then lost it, to wake up a machine. He needed the Justice League! So Victor aka Cyborg finds a purpose in life again after being transformed by his father Silas that worked at S.T.A.R. Labs. Then we go to the Arthur aka Aquaman, his character tripped me out. He doesn’t want to show that deep down inside past those muscles and tattoos, lies a soft spot. Loved his snark, and the “pitch fork” too, as Batman called it. In my opinion all the characters, new and old, have good chemistry in this film.
So I know your wondering if I’m gonna talk about Clark aka Superman at all. Well if you believe that Superman is dead and wasn’t coming back, then “what is wrong with you?”. Of course he comes back, how, when and why, I already said I won’t give away. But the Man of Steel does come back to us and once again the people will have their beacon. I want to say so much more but you’ll thank me for staying quiet about Superman. I want you to feel everything I felt when he returned to us.
Justice League is a great beginning to what is to come from DC. Jack Snyder delivers once again, but he does lighten the “mood” in Justice League compared to Batman vs. Superman. I don’t have to tell anyone to go see it, I know you all will. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Man of Steel has been one of the most anticipated movies I have been waiting for since I knew it was going to be made. I have always been a huge fan of the Superman movies (good or bad), Christopher Reeve captured my heart many many years ago with his portrayal of Superman and I’ve just aways loved the Superman character itself. As far as this version, I wasn’t worried like I was when they made the Superman Returns movie with Brandon Routh as Superman. That movie ended up being a bit cheesy but I still enjoyed it. I can probably say my least favorite was Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor was just annoying for me. Speaking of Lex Luthor, I’m so glad they didn’t use that character again in Man of Steel. They went with General Zod in this film. I knew that having Christopher Nolan and Jack Synder together in the making of this film, that they would get dark with this picture. They had all the perfect ingredients to do so, and they nailed it.
Man of Steel is not your typical Superman movie and its about time that it was updated to compete with all the other comic book characters such as Iron Man and Batman films. The details and depth of the storyline were great. You got to experience more of the pre-story before Superman is sent to Earth. Normally that is a quick recap and your done but not in Man of Steel. We witness the destruction of planet Krypton and the battle between Jor-El and General Zog over the future of their people. When this goes down, Jor-El and Lara genetically infuse the race into Kal-El with the Codex to preserve the Kryptonian race. This is when he is shipped off to Earth. Just before the planet erupts and diminishes to nothing. The details are incredibly vivd from the beginning to the end. Its crazy good how they show the lava erupting out and creeping closer until it just overtook everything. That’s a horrible way for a planet to go.
Cue Earth and an older Clark Kent. This film doesn’t start like most movies do from the infant phase until said person is an adult. I really enjoy how they start off with Clark grown and working. What they infuse into the film are flashbacks of his youth and growing up. Certain events will trigger a memory or just cue to that time before. It really kept the movie flowing. It captures how much Clark had to hide his true nature from everyone else to the point that something horrific happens but he is told not to show himself. So much that Clark must endure and not know who or what he is. This will set him off living a life on the go, never settling down and always trying to hide. Until the one day when everything changes. He finds something that changes the course of his life forever and who he is. Of course discovering all this while a snoopy reporter happens to be at the same place and time, doesn’t help Clark at all. This finding will also trigger something that will bring doom to Earth. General Zog has now found what planet KA-El is on and he will do everything in his power to bring him to his end, even if that means the destruction of Earth and its people. Superman will rise and he will have to defend the only planet he knows and its people, will those same people he is protecting accepts him?
If you are one of the few that have yet to see Man of Steel, I hope with this review I have convinced you to go out and see it. I cant wait to own my own copy to be able to watch it over and over again. I also want to mention how Kudos to Man of Steel! It’s a movie I recommend for the family just not children under the age of 6.
