Series: The Amateurs #3
Author: Sara Shepard
Release Date: November 6th 2018

At first, the mystery they’re tasked with seems to have nothing to do with Aerin or her kidnapper. But as Seneca, Maddox, and Madison hit the Jersey Shore to gather clues, they begin to uncover the true background of the killer and the horrors that shaped him into who he is. The scavenger hunt leads them to the family of a recently kidnapped boy, a serial child-snatcher, and dark secrets they could never have seen coming.

As Aerin struggles to play nice with the person who killed her sister in order to buy herself time, her friends work feverishly against the ticking clock that could mean her life, and every clue they uncover leads Seneca to suspect she's more connected to the killer's history than she ever realized.

ABOUT THE BOOK
As soon as Seneca Frazier sees the post on the Case Not Closed website about Helena Kelly, she’s hooked. Helena’s high-profile disappearance five years earlier is the one that originally got Seneca addicted to true crime. It’s the reason she’s a member of the site in the first place.

So when Maddy Wright, her best friend from the CNC site, invites Seneca to spend spring break in Connecticut looking into the cold case, she immediately packs her bag. But the moment she steps off the train in trendy, glamorous Dexby, things begin to go wrong. Maddy is nothing like she expected, and Helena’s sister, Aerin Kelly, seems completely hostile and totally uninterested in helping with their murder investigation.

But when Brett, another super user from the site, joins Seneca and Maddy in Dexby, Aerin starts to come around. The police must have missed something, and someone in Dexby definitely has information they’ve been keeping quiet.

As Seneca, Brett, Maddy, and Aerin begin to unravel dark secrets and shocking betrayals about the people closest to them, they seem to be on the murderer’s trail at last. But somewhere nearby the killer is watching . . . ready to do whatever it takes to make sure the truth stays buried.

Release Day Celebration: The Good Girls by Sara Shepard + Giveaway

The Good Girls
The Perfectionists #2
Author: Sara Shepard
Reading Level: Young Adult
Genre: Contemporary
Released: June 2nd 2015
Publisher: HarperTeen

From Sara Shepard, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Pretty Little Liars series, comes the shocking sequel to The Perfectionists—with an ending you'll have to read to believe!

Mackenzie, Ava, Caitlin, Julie, and Parker have done some not-so-perfect things. Even though they all talked about killing rich bully Nolan Hotchkiss, they didn't actually go through with it. It's just a coincidence that Nolan died in exactly the way they planned . . . right? Except Nolan wasn't the only one they fantasized about killing. When someone else they named dies, the girls wonder if they're being framed. Or are they about to become the killer's next targets?

For as long as she can remember, Sara Shepard has been writing. However, when she was young she also wanted to be a soap opera star, a designer for LEGO, a filmmaker, a claymation artist, a geneticist, and a fashion magazine editor when she grew up. She and her sister have been creating joint artistic and written projects for years, except they’re pretty sure they’re the only ones who find them funny.
She got her MFA at Brooklyn College and now lives outside Philadelphia, PA with her husband and dogs. Her first adult novel is called The Visibles/ All The Things We Didn’t Say.

Sara’s bestselling young adult series, Pretty Little Liars, is loosely based on her experiences growing up on Philadelphia’s Main Line…although luckily she never had any serious stalkers. The series has also inspired the ABC Family television series of the same name.

One winner will get finished copies of THE PERFECTIONISTS and THE GOOD GIRLS

In the sequel to The Perfectionist, we come to learn the person that the girls suspected is no longer alive. As this is how The Perfectionist ends. Mr. Granger is dead and there is no one else they can pinpoint the blame to. Unlike them, there is someone that is doing all the killing, first Nolan now Mr. Granger. The girls know as soon as the truth comes out about their prank to Nolan, they will be the ones to be blame to these crimes.

In The Good Girls, everyone is trying to settle back into their lives. Although some truth were exposed about the five high school seniors. As they try to move on, they come to realize the killer is after them. This murder knew of their true intentions, but never did they imagine this person would be able to do the things they’ve planned, better yet, desired. As a new suspect is charged of Mr. Granger’s murder, the girls know better. Alex is not the killer. Yet, they do not have the evidence to help him out.

As we get to learn more about each of the five girls and their boyfriends, we (the reader) realize, anyone can be the killer. No one can be trusted. The way their boyfriends make statements, one can only question their true intentions. As Ava, one of the five girls involved on Nolan’s prank which lead to his death, questions Alex – he begins to tell her his story, how he was involved. He said he saw someone the night Mr. Granger was killed. “A girl”. As the school search for evidences, the girls begin to confess their hatred towards Nolan and along the way they begin to see a pattern. The killer is killing everyone they’ve wished to be death. Everyone that either harmed them or destroyed their life. But how? Is the killer one of the girls? There is no way someone else would know about these individuals.

What else can one expect from Sara? She is famous because she earned this title. She knows how to write mysteries stories and they are highly addicting. She gives you the evidences, you just have to solve the puzzle. Gosh, when I found out the truth, I was facepalming. How did I not see it? Everything screamed the murderer's name. Sara will not disappoint. If you are a fan of her novels and or mystery stories, then you have to make sure you pick this one!

Book Review: Everything We Ever Wanted by Sara Shepard

Summary: (from goodreads) How do you choose between your family and your history?

Emotional and compelling storytelling from Sara Shepard, author of All the Things We Didn't Say.

A late-night phone call on a Sunday evening rarely brings good news. So when Sylvie, a recently-widowed mother of two, receives a call from the head teacher of the school she's on the board of, she knows it won't be something she wants to hear. The school was founded by her grandfather, and she's inherited everything he strived to build up - a reputation, a heritage, the school and the grand old family house. And with this inheritance comes responsibility. So when her son Scott is whispered to be involved in a scandal that led to the death of one of the boys he coaches at the school, it throws the family into chaos: Sylvie has to decide between her loyalty to the school that has been part of her family legacy for years and her son who she feels wants nothing to do with her. She starts spying on the dead boy's father, making an unlikely connection.Sara Shepard's compelling new novel tells how hard it can be to really, truly connect to people, how making quick, easy judgments can come back to haunt you, and how the life you always planned for - and always dreamed of - often doesn't always turn out the way you imagined at all...

A contemporary novel about a high profile dysfunctional family and the harsh consequences when secrets are kept and a big gap in the communications between members becomes impassable with time.

Bates-McAllister, a respected family that because of the society position, gave priority to reputation and keeping appearances above all, even if It meant that the secrets kept would end up hurting and increase resentment between son and adopted son as well as the father himself.

The plot sounded interesting because of the mystery and revelations, but it was slow developing throughout. I had to rely on the desire to know the outcome of the mystery to keep reading but in the end it felled kind of short of my expectations.
