    The Iron Queen Book Review

    The Iron Queen
    Iron Fey #3
    Author: Julie Kagawa
    Pages: 384 pgs
    Reading Level: YA
    Release Date: February 1st 2010
    Review Source: NetGalley
Available: Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Borders

Summary: (from goodreads) The New York Times Bestseller

    My name is Meghan Chase.

I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.

This time, there will be no turning back.

(Should be more like a Forest of Trees)

What a Enchanting, Captivating, Glamoring and Enamoring Tale! I can sit here all day and keep finding words that describe the greatness of The Iron Queen. This 3rd installment of The Iron Fey series is by far my favorite and the best of the 3. I know that I only rate up to 5 trees but honestly The Iron Queen deserves a whole forest as a rating.

I will write this review spoiler free. We start The Iron Queen a little bit after where the 2nd book left off. We once again begin a journey with Meghan and My favorite Prince Ash. Yes I will say it now for those that don't know yet. I am 100% Team Ash since book 1. Every page in the book is filled with so much and it keeps you on the edge of your seats. I will admit this is the 1st book I've read where parts actually made my eyes water. I've never ever cried from a book and The Iron Queen changed that for me. You also will read sections that will make you smile your biggest smile. Julie wrote in a part that my heart literally did little cartwheels of happiness. I felt like it was happening to a loved one and I was just so overwhelmed by the action that it made me Happy for the rest of the day. The ending of the book is so moving, I didn't want it to end.

Do I look forward to The Iron Knight, It will be like Christmas all over again when its released. The Iron fey series is my favorite Fey series of all time. I can't wait until everyone is able to pick up their copy and hear what everyone has to say, and so I can finally squeal with others about the Awesomesauce that Ash is.

"No Hope for Gomez!" Birthday party!

Today I bring you a event happening December 2nd from Author Graham Parke who wrote No Hope for Gomez! Parke will be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of his book and he is inviting everyone to the party! Check it out.

"No Hope for Gomez!" Birthday Party. Win kindles, iPods, and get free books!

    “It's the age-old tale:
         Boy meets girl.
         Boy stalks girl.
         Girl already has a stalker.
         Boy becomes her stalker-stalker.”

It's hard to believe, but it's been a year since I handed in the final proofs for my weird little book ‘No Hope for Gomez!’ To celebrate this, and the fact that it just became a finalist in 2010's Best Book Awards, I decided to throw an international party. As I’ve had a debilitating fear of throwing parties and no-one showing up since early childhood, I’d be more than delighted if you’d come!

Of course, with every cool, international party comes a gift bag. Here's just some of the stuff attendants will get:

    • Exclusive short story collection
    • No Hope for Gomez: The Lost Chapters
    • Making of Gomez: behind the scenes eBook
    • Signed hi-res poster + bookplate

(These are all exclusive items and will not be available again)

Additionally, several lucky attendants will win a Kindle or an iPod!

Oh yeah, you can bring as many friends as you like, just don't bring your crazy uncle who drinks too much and then tries to get me to go to the attic with him to see something wonderful. I've fallen for that before and I don't mind telling you, I came away very disappointed!

Find out how to attend HERE.

    Beautiful Creatures Book Review

    Beautiful Creatures
    Caster Chronicles #1
Authors: Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
    Pages: 564 Hardcover
    Reading Level: YA
    Published: December 1st 2009
    Review SourcePurchased
Available: Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Borders

Summary: (from goodreads) Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Beautiful Creatures will definitely be on my top five of favorite books. I LOVE that fact that it's written from a males point of view and that you can follow it with ease as it was well written. The plot and the descriptions of the lifestyles these characters portrayed kept me well entertained. I found the historical views interesting. Not only did this book keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what happens next, it made me angry, fall in love and laugh and cry. The love between Lena and Ethan and how they were able to communicate mentally wad a plus to this story. However, I have to agree with Yara on what's the deal with Ethan? Since Macon was sacrificed in order for Lena to become a "good" caster, does that mean Ethan will now become an Incubus? I guess it's something I will have to find out when I read the next book. Can't wait. This book is for YA and I recommend it to all.

Betrayal, loss, pain, fear. How many trials can love endure and still survive?

Book Review: The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos

    The Emerald Talisman
    Talisman #1
    Author: Brenda Pandos
    Reading Level: YA
    Genre: Paranormal Romance
    Published: March 23rd 2010
    Review Source: Purchased
    Available: Amazon

Summary: (from goodreads) To be normal, sixteen-year-old Julia Parker would shed her empathic gift in a second. Life has been difficult since her mother's mysterious disappearance ten years earlier - an event she witnessed, but can't remember. Julia's situation becomes more complicated after a near death experience from a blood thirsty stalker. As high school students go missing it is clear there is a connection to her own experience--past and present. Someone has to stop the madness and a chance encounter with a creepy psychic foretells that only Julia is the key to stopping the madness, but it may require the life of the one she loves.

When I first purchased this book I figured it was about Vampires. I thought that it would be the same storyline with a little bit of changes. But to my surprise, it was completely different. I immediately fell in love with the personality of the main character. She tells it like it is and is respected among her piers which I thought was awesome. The love interests, yes there's more than one, are all different and she needs to choose. Which you would say is sort of like the other love stories. It is but with a surprise and many twists. This story is romantic, mysterious and heart warming. The plot is fantastic and I can not wait until I get my hands on the next book. There are somethings I wish were explained in this story but it's not like.. I wanted to know how she has her special powers and how does no one in her family know about these powers? I hope it's explained in the next book. Anyways, the overall book is great, I recommend it.

No One Lives Twice Book Review

    No One Lives Twice
    Author: Julie Moffett
    Pages: eBook
    Reading Level: Adult
    Published: August 16th 2010

This book can be described in one word. AMAZING! I was intrigued from the beginning to the end. There are so many twist and turns and unexpected agendas that you do not know who's on good side or who's on the bad side. Although there are some terms that i did not understand, the author did a excellent hob explaining it. the dialog will keep you guessing the entire time. It was mysteriously funny and completely unpredictable. I love it! I will definitely be reading more stories from this author, she knows how to catch the reader's eye and keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire story. I recommend this book.

Synopsis: I'm Lexi Carmichael, geek extraordinaire. I spend my days stopping computer hackers at the National Security Agency. My nights? Those I spend avoiding my mother and eating cereal for dinner. Even though I work for a top-secret agency, I've never been in an exciting car chase, sipped a stirred (not shaken) martini, or shot a poison dart from an umbrella.

Until today, that is, when two gun-toting thugs popped up in my life and my best friend disappeared. So, I've enlisted the help of the Zimmerman twins—the reclusive architects of America's most sensitive electronic networks—to help me navigate a bewildering maze of leads to find her.

Along the way, my path collides with a sexy government agent and a rich, handsome lawyer, both of whom seem to have the hots for me. Hacking, espionage, sexy spy-men—it's a geek girl's dream come true. If it weren't for those gun-toting thugs...
