The daughter of the last Russian Tsar, Nicolas II, Anastasia is found by two Russian con men, Dimitri and Vladimir, who seek the reward that her grandmother, the Dowager Empress Marie, promised to the ones who'll find her. But the evil mystic of the Tsar family, Rasputin, still wants the Romanov family to be destroyed forever.

It should be known that I haven’t seen Anastasia in years! I forgot how much I really enjoyed all the musical aspects of Anastasia and let’s talk about how I still remember it word for word. My eight year old self would be very proud! I decided to make it a girls night in with both of my nieces and my mom. I am thrilled to report that they absolutely loved it! Oh to see the look in their eyes when Anya started singing Once Upon A December and the whole ball room came alive. It was truly magical!

I do have to talk about the animation though. It is so vividly clear and could really be in par with some of the movies coming out now. The animators that worked on Anastasia were very advance  in their line of work so bravo to them!

From Vlad to Sofie and let’s not forget Rasputin with a side of Bartok I could not get enough of them. Their dialogue had us all laughing so much. I loved that there was an actual story behind everything. Anya was just a girl trying to figure out where she belonged in the world. Many girls can relate, even now all these years later I can see the thought provoking quest one must go through to find where you fit in in the world.

Anastasia has music, adventure, romance and a bit of drama all wrapped into one. If you haven’t seen it (You’d be surprised to hear that there are some people who haven’t watched it. I found this out while live tweeting.) or if you, like me, haven’t seen it in awhile it’s a wonderful trip down memory lane.

P.S - I am currently on a mission to find two Pooka’s and a Bartok (He might be for me, but shhh let’s keep that between us.)  So if anyone of you happen to have either of those hidden in your closet please let me know. I’m pretty sure I’ll be scouring the internet for quite some time trying to find them lol!
