Recap: @FloridaSupercon 2016!

This year's Florida Supercon has been like no other! The main staged was moved to The Fillmore Miami Beach and whoa what a difference that made. Not only was there tons of space to accommodate the ever growing crowd that is always looking forward to this yearly event, but it opened up a ton of space for more vendors to come in. Guys, I can't even begin to tell you about all the money Leydy & I spent! Look for another post on that how ordeal.

This years highlight has to be being front and center to for Alex Kingston’s panel. Leydy & I are such big fans of her that when we heard she was coming to Florida Supercon we actually couldn’t stop screaming. Ah, good times. We were both pretty sleep deprived from all of the Friday night shenanigans, but that didn’t stop us from getting up extra early to see what Saturday had in store for us. We got there before the doors opened and boy could you tell the con had sold out. When we got the email the night before I couldn’t believe it!

Alex had us from the moment she walked out and said “Hello Sweeties!” I think the entire theater died at the same time.  You could tell she was so exciting to be there and just getting to talk with her fans was something that made her so happy. Not only was she a delight to hear, but we also got some pretty epic new first hand! The ever amazing Alex Kingston will be in the Gilmore Girls reboot! Yes, you read that right! Who she will be playing is still a mystery, but just finding out that two of our favorite fandoms are about to collide is blowing our minds! Here’s just a clip of her teasing us about what’s to come.
Saturday was filled was so many things. Not only did we get to see Alex Kingston bright and early, but the lovely Elizabeth Henstridge was on the stage after her. I have to say Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been pretty badass lately and to hear that Elizabeth was coming to the con just got me that much more excited. If you know me then you know I ship Fitz & Simmons hard core so when she answered this question I pretty much freaked out.
Also getting to hear her in person gave me Goosebumps. I’ve been such a fan of hers and just getting to be in the same room made my inner fangirl come out. I also loved how everyone kept complementing her on episode 4,722 Hours. I hate spoilers even when the season is over so I’ll just skim through it & say what a solid performance that was from Elizabeth.

We also took it back to the old days, holograms! Ah, the joys of working with things that aren't really there always make me laugh.

Also getting to hear about the pranks the cast pulled on each other had us all dying of laughter.

When it was time for the Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin panel we were bummed to find out Ben wouldn’t be making it due to flight issues, but that was over in a heartbeat after they announced that in turn the panel would turn into a Deadpool reunion! If you don’t already know Deadpool is all types of amazing so getting to hear stories from the set just added to the extra layer of awesome.  Getting to hear Colossus in person was so mind blowing to me. Getting to hear him say this line basically killed me.

Not only did we get to hear Morena talk a little bit about what to expect in the next season of Gotham, but we also go to hear about what it's like to work with Ben & who had the best dynamic on set. On the Deadpool side of things we honestly couldn't stop laughing. I can see why Stefan Kapicic & Brianna Hildebrand got casted to play Colossus & Negasonic Teenage Warhead they are hyterical! Even though the panel didn’t turn out the way we had originally planned, I loved that we got an unexpected Deadpool reunion.

We loved getting to see so many amazing celebs at this year's Florida Supercon and are beyond grateful to the organizers for getting them all here. Kudos for all the hard work guys!

Only Few Hours to Purchase Your @floridasupercon Tickets!

Counting down to our 4 Day and 3 Day ticket sell out.
You have until 11:59pm Tuesday June 21st to get those tickets.

In response to recent events, the City of Miami Beach has asked us to update our policies regarding weapons, masks, and props. Our new policies may be found at

In the past week, we have been working closely with the City of Miami Beach and their different emergency response departments to put together a comprehensive plan for improving the overall safety and security of every attendee. Supercon has always had a strong security presence at events, but it’s time to add additional measures. Many of these policies match those already in place by other large conventions, such as New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con.

The updated policy reflects a ZERO TOLERANCE for REAL and/or REALISTIC weapons of any kind. The City of Miami Beach owns the convention center, and they will not allow weapons even if you have a conceal and carry permit. No weapons are allowed, period. Searches will be conducted if any bag or outfit presents as suspicious. Supercon staff will be on hand to help security understand the difference between a quality crafted costume and something out of place. Anyone not consenting to a search at the request of a security officer will be asked to leave without refund.

Supercon and city officials fully understand that none of our fans or attendees are of any threat to anyone. We also appreciate that we have never had an incident in the past when we allowed fake weapons into the building. Unfortunately, at this moment in time, we have to eliminate all possible confusion about props and fake weapons.

We understand there has been some confusion when we say no weapons. We are not referring to “cartoon” weapons (we consider those “props”)… we are talking about REAL and REALISTIC looking weapons. Lightsabers and Phasers are ok. Airsoft guns and Nerf Guns painted black that look like real guns are not.

Everyone entering the building with a mask on will be asked to remove it upon entry. You may put it back on once you pass the prop check point. You will have to do this at both the convention center and the Filmore.

We are working with city officials to increase security onsite at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Filmore Theatre, and the surrounding area. This will see an increase in both private security officers and the addition of more City of Miami Beach Police to the area all weekend long. We have also put other procedures into place in tandem with the City of Miami Beach to provide for the safety and security of Florida Supercon attendees.

Both Florida Supercon and the City of Miami Beach want every attendee to have a good experience in city and at our show. Your safety and security is our top concern.

#MegaCon2016 Orlando Cosplay Recap

As much as I love attending panels and meeting celebrities, I have to say my favorite part of attending cons has got to be seeing all the amazing cosplays. Fans put so much time, effort, and money into making their cosplays that it’s hard to pick a favorite.

Walking through the con, well, mostly walking from one panel to another, we got to see many amazing cosplays walking around. We managed to get lots of them on photo and, after seeing how amazing, thoughtful, and sometimes downright funny a lot of them were, I decided they needed their own article.

Here are my favorite cosplays:

Awesome Hagrid costume

Snitch Doggie

He kind of looks like David!

River!

From one of my favorite movies!

Such a classic

This cosplay is so epic!

Hades from "Hercules", very original

I love that Batman is photobombing Tinkerbell

Who remembers this guy?

Cutest ever!

Of course couldn't let go of an opportunity to take a pic with a young Steve Rogers/Captain America! Swooning so hard!

Aw, this is love!

Negan at the Tom Payne ("Jesus" on The Walking Dead) panel

One of my most favorite ones

This was an epic lightsaber battle

Snipper Storm Trooper. No worries, he missed everyone he tried to shoot

Kreager from "Archer"

And Archer himself!

My favorite Studio Gibli movie: "Howl's Moving Castle"

Another classic!

This was one of the most unique cosplays I saw!

This is talent and dedication!

I met Tony Stark guys!

This was one of the most hilarious cosplays: Batman with his sidekicks and enemies, after old age

But this was BY FAR my favorite video of the entire con

Hope you liked and appreciated these cosplays as much as I did!

Orlando #MegaCon2016 Recap: Day 3, Sunday

Sunday is traditionally the slowest day of any con (at the San Diego Comic Con, by noon on Sunday, all vendors start picking up already!), so Tairina and I took advantage of the fact that there weren’t many panels today to finally be able to enjoy the vendors and the exhibits.

But, not before getting the only other photo op we splurged on:

With the amazing and best hugger in the world: John Barrowman! It was the best squeeze ever, as you can see from my face (insert big smile emoticon here).

Next up we went walking around and seeing some of the art and exhibits they had there! So many cool things, not enough money, as usual.

Here are some of the pics and video we got from the exhibits:

We love Wall-E!

I couldn't let an opportunity to blow a kiss at my favorite Doctor pass by!

This incredibly awesome piece of art work was done (and signed) by none other than Sam Ellis, Lead Illustrator on the show "Archer"

Got this pin-up style artwork of one of my favorite girls for myself

And we concluded our day (before driving 4 hours back to Miami) by attending the Tom Felton panel.

Being in the presence of yet another Harry Potter actor was the best, most epic way for me to finish this amazing con. Tom told us so many awesome stories about being on set, he made us laugh and swoon all while being super sweet and humble. He even got up and gave a fan a hug when she started to cry because she told him that her BFF was recently diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t attend the con.

Thank you MegaCon Orlando for an amazing Memorial Day weekend! Best yet: they announced during this con that they now will be in Tampa for the weekend of October 28th-30th with none other than DAVID TENNANT! You read right! The most beloved Doctor is coming to Florida, so start saving and planning to go because (to make it even better) Billie Piper will be joining him there too! She told us at the panel on Friday! See you all then!
